Everything was perfect. We have rented a whole house for us, something that i didnt expect, we were shocked when we saw how many facilities we had. We had a small problem with the boiling water but in max.20 min someone from the village resolved our problem, very fast, helpfull and profesional. Very nice apartment with lovely terrace overlooking the ocean. The owner was very prompt in replying, and very kind. The garage is just by the apartment, which made things very easy. We even found coffee as an amenity (for us Italians this is a plus).

We come here to enjoy the natural pools we were too tired upon arrival. But next morning was perfect, no crowds,peaceful. There are enough restaurants to choose from. Please be aware that some of them close their kitchens around 4pm

Stunning scenery. Great for hiking.

Stunning scenery. Great for hiking. Weather is changeable and was cooler than UK at the time we visited (April into May), so take a range of clothing in case of cooler days. Jeep trips to hiking trails are a great idea. you get to see places you wouldn't stumble upon left to your own devices. Overall a rally nice spring break in stunning surroundings. Just let down by poor customer service in some of the eateries.

We stopped at Fanal forest on the way to Porto Moniz.

We stopped at Fanal forest on the way to Porto Moniz. We swam in the pools upon arrival. We were fortunate to have a beautiful sunny day in the winter which made it ideal for swimming and walking around.

Morning coffee and cake at the little bar outside the entrance to the bigger supermarket. Exploring the upper town and climbing the winding road up the hill for great views. Sitting on a bollard in the harbour watching old men fishing, people messing about on boats, schools of fish in the deep and very clear water, even having a harbour porpoise playing near where I was sitting. Exploring the natural bathing pools at the eastern end of the promenade, swimming with schools of fish keeping you company and then sitting with a beer in the sun at the cafe nearby.

We set up at 35 day European vacation.

We set up at 35 day European vacation. We had never heard of Madeira before this. It ended up being truly the highlight of the whole 35 days vacation. Literally every moment was exciting or truly relaxing while we were in Porto Moniz. This is to whoever may be considering Porto Moniz. No games, you’re not going to find a better place to get happy.

The place was quite crowded even of the main season. During the TOP season it will be not a good choice for me. But was nice for a short off-season stay. The weather on the north of the island is a bit less sunny.

The appartment was quite spacious for 2 people. The room was quite nice and warm, the bathroom big and the kitchen had all the utensils we needed for those days. It also had it's own parking so no need to worry. But the best part of the house was the balcony with the view. We had the penthouse and from the balcony you could see the ocean and the Porto Moniz lava pools. Unfortunatley we only stayed 2 nights, but both nights we at dinner in the balcony enjoying the view. Would defently recommend.

-Location (if you have a car) - close to many beautiful sites and to natural swimming pool which are a gem of Porto Moniz in my opinion - comfortable rooms and facilities - very friendly, and professional staff - great breakfast and restaurant in the hotel in general - great price vs quality 10/10

Porto Moniz is a beautiful town in Madeira and the house is in a very nice location near the town. We could always find parking nearby. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and the owner was available for any problems
