Stockholm is a beautiful city and I wish I had had more time to explore. I did take a boat tour of some of the islands and it was well worth the money but make sure you get one with indoor seating in the fall and the winter!!

I went to Stockholm for business.

I went to Stockholm for business. But Stockholm is a safe city, with a wide range of convenient facilities, public transport is very good, the banking system works very well. It has many interesting museums like the Vasa Museum and interesting places to visit like Gamla Stan. But it is an expensive place to visit.

    Stockholm completely won me over.

Stockholm completely won me over. It’s such a beautiful and well-organized city where everything feels calm and respectful — people are polite, the streets are clean, and there’s a quiet sense of harmony everywhere. My favorite places were definitely Gamla Stan, with its charming cobblestone streets and colorful old houses, and Djurgården, where you can walk for hours surrounded by nature, museums, and the sound of the water. I also loved Södermalm for its artsy vibe, local shops, and cozy cafés — it’s the perfect place to just wander without a plan. Food was another highlight! We ate at a few great spots: Meatballs for the People (for a Swedish classic), Vete-Katten for amazing pastries and coffee, and Urban Deli for something more modern and relaxed. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. Getting around Stockholm is super easy — the public transport is punctual and clean, but honestly, walking or renting bikes is the best way to explore. The city feels safe and very pedestrian-friendly. For young couples, there’s so much to do: long walks along the waterfront, visiting the Vasa Museum or Fotografiska, exploring hidden cafés, or taking a romantic ferry ride through the archipelago. Even just watching the sunset from Monteliusvägen feels magical. Stockholm is one of those cities that balances culture, nature, and calm perfectly — ideal for couples who love good food, long walks, and beautiful views.

    I loved visiting Stockholm.

I loved visiting Stockholm. I wish I had more time and money to stay longer. We were there for a concert at the Avicii Arena which was amazing. Another highlight of our trip was visiting Skansen - the open-air museum with traditional houses and crafts where you can observe how glass, pottery, bread were made in the past. We also found very interesting the wild animals and fish traditional for Sweden, and exotic monkeys, lemurs and meerkats. If visiting Skansen, make sure to have enough time - go before noon as it closes at 15 h.

The Gamla Stan ("Old Town") area was my favorite area. Great for walking with lots of great narrow, cobbled streets and old, interesting architecture. Loads of fun shops and restaurants. I enjoyed the Vasa Museum, Skansen, and the National Art Gallery. Touring the fabulous City Hall is a great experience.

Stockholm was wonderfull Ticked all the boxes, historic, great food, good coffee, pretty easy to get around. Public transport was fast and on time (but beware of construction causing some bus stops to be shifted like Slussen). Do a walking tour when you arrive, good to set the scene. Skansen was awesome - loads to see especially all the animals (bears, wolverines, Lynx, owls and farm yard animals. The Vasa Museum is a must (a 400 year old ship recovered from the bottom of the harbour and on full display and it is huge). just explore the different parts of the city on foot. it's a beautiful place. 3 days (4 mights) minimum. add an extra day to see Uppsala (the old capital) about 90 mins north of Stockholm.

Way better than expected! I have stayed in a number of places in Stockholm but in comparison to price/worth ratio, this is easily one of the best. The location is basically at Slussen station, in the hotel you can use washing automat and ironing room, there are tea and coffee for a small fee in the communal area. Thought there is ongoing construction on Slussen, nothing is heard in the hotel. The room is freshly renovated, with all necessities inside.
