Capital City With Small Town Charm
The charming Slovenian capital of Ljubljana is the only large city in the country. Dominated by Castle Hill with the medieval Ljubljana Castle on top, the city is a picturesque mix of Balkan architectural styles, romantic bridges and scenic views.

Ljubljana was an unexpectedly surprise. The old town has a great nightlife with a lot of good local restaurants. There are shops and outside places to sit. There is a lot of smoking in restaurants and in common areas. The people of Slovenia are very kind and nice. The city is very very safe even at night. Hire a guide and see the Alps and other surrounding areas. Stay in the old city district you can walk everywhere and if you can make a reservation at the Palace restaurant in the palace tower. It's so awesome with a great staff and wonderful food and wine paired wines. The price is totally worth the money. Overall Ljubljana was a very pleasant last minute addition to our itinerary.
