Saint-Louis has a completely different charm from the rest of Senegal. You can feel it in the air. It's a vibrant, but yet laid-back town on an island. This is one of my worst hotel experience. The room where I lodged where very noisy. All the hotel staffers just do not care about the calmness and speak loudly from the yard. The city is beautiful but seems abandoned. Hopefully, they will restore it in the near future so we can see its beauty again. Saint Louis is a friendly town to spend a couple of days .
Saint Louis is a friendly town to spend a couple of days . the colonial district is atmospheric with a nice vibe . The beach side to the town is a working residential area for fishermen families so not the prettiest and does smell in parts but still worth an explore . Saint Louis is a must see. However, you need to taylor your expectations. This was once a beautiful town under the French, but the senegalis don't maintain it, so expect crumbling houses and goats strolling the streets.
