Everything was soo awesome. The room for guest had a very comfortable bed, smart tv and shower with hot water :) the garden is so lovely, i love plants a lot and this was really paradise for us. Our host speak english very well and is so nice, he is helpfull human and we really feel like in home. House is located near to Ston town. We can use dala -dala, 8 km and you can join wonderful beaches and a lot of different places. Is no in tourist place and we love it! When you decide chose Mama's house, you can live between local people, talk with them, see their culture and just have fun.

What an absolute gorgeous gem of a hotel in Stone Town. Truly authentic building and decor and incredible bedrooms. I stayed in the ‘Kate’ room which was utterly delightful. Beautiful private terrace overlooking the town, enormous bedroom (beautifully decorated) and an open-air bathtub adjoining. Super private. Gorgeous to wake up in the morning and open the doors and feel the breeze filter through. Beautiful bed linen and towels (woven locally) and handmade soaps. If you are into aesthetics, then this is the place for you. I can’t say enough to rate the hotel. All the staff were absolutely delightful and super attentive (as a single female traveller it was very much appreciated). The Manager was extremely kind and friendly. Also organised a fantastic private tour of the town for me which was brilliant. The rooftop restaurant is to die for. The best, authentic and freshest of food I have ever eaten.The taster plate experience with sunset and cocktails was dreamy. Amazing views and ambiance. Didn’t want it to end! The Secret Garden restaurant is also absolutely worth a visit. I attended on a Friday evening when there was live music being performed. Truly magical. Again, the food was just amazing and the staff all super kind.

The property is gorgeous, with great antique styling, clean and comfortable rooms, a great location outside of the chaos of Stone Town, but a 2 minute walk away, all around amazing hotel. And what made it even better was the staff, who were always incredibly friendly and very open to doing whatever necessary to make the guests feel at home, trying new recipes, etc. Absolutely recommend! Asante sana.

Everything. This place was BEAUTIFUL. The decor and feel was amazing, check in and out was easy, good wifi, little balcony, amazing bathroom with good water pressure. I really appreciated the tea and coffee making facilities and the fact that they used refillable products in the bathroom and offered a filtered water to fill jugs/bottles, rather than more plastic. Breakfast was also excellent, as were the staff. The only disappointing thing was that we weren't staying longer.

Beautiful! The furnishing and the vibe there is so tranquil. Food at the hotel was good quality and price pretty much the same as any restaurant in the area. Rooms are clean and spacious, beds are comfortable. Warm shower and good shower pressure. Staff super friendly and the location is perfect! Breakfast is soo goood!!!

    While my stay was short I really loved mamas house.

    While my stay was short I really loved mamas house. It was a relaxing quiet place and the locals were friendly and welcoming. The host and his family were also very welcomining and very informative. I am happy to have spent my last night in zanzibar here.
