Our main reason for coming here was the vegan menu at the restaurant, but we really were amazing by the entire property. The food was excellent and diverse, the people working there were very kind and helpful. The room was very stylish and clean. They have an organic garden, so the mint comes fresh in the Mojitos. The staff helped us to book some trips to coffee farms and hikes on Kilimanjaro that was well organized with a wonderful driver and guides.

Words cannot describe this place, you have to come and experience it for yourself! After our safari, we were exhausted, but also longed for some activity before continuing on to Zanzibar. That's why a few days in Moshi was exactly the right decision for us! We have not regretted this decision: Tulivu Retreat lives up to its name: we were really able to switch off 100% and enjoy our time here. Never before have we been so warmly welcomed and never before have we stayed in such wonderful accommodation. The pictures can't do the place justice, it's just incredible: from the architecture of the houses, the decor, the fantastic food and the extensive tropical gardens. I'm sure you won't find anywhere else in the area that is as beautiful. The activities we booked (mountain bike tour in the "Rau Forest", hike to the Materuni Waterfalls and Chemka Hot Springs) were also just great. Too bad we couldn't stay longer: There is so much more to see and we would have loved to extend our stay. Thanks to the whole team for a wonderful stay. We will be back.

We stayed on the seventh floor in the King Room. It's a corner room with two large patio windows on either side, which open on to two balconies. This room must have the best veiw of Kilimanjaro than any other hotel in Moshi. We spent three nights here and the best time to see the mountain was at sunrise, which in February was around 6.45am. At this time there was a clear unobstructed view as there was no cloud. After breakfast Kilimanjaro had disappeared for the rest of the day hidden beneath a layer of thick cloud. In the words of a tour operator, Mount Kilimanjaro loves to play hide and seek.  The hotel is a good modern hotel with all the amenities you'd expect. And has a great view of Kilimanjaro from the roof top bar. Although, it gets rather windy up there at sunset. It's a shame that the bar staff play very loud music, which totally spoils the ambience of the occasion. The breakfast is good and the waiting staff are very attentive and Jordon M, the chef, will cook eggs just as you like them. The room is well made up every day with all toiletries and towels are replenished. I found the air-conditioning controls difficult to operate but reception were quickly on hand to assist.  What makes the King Room, on the seventh floor, so outstanding is the magnificent, unobstructed, view of Kilimanjaro, which, when all said and done, is the only reason to be in Moshi

Moshi is a friendly mid sized town.

Moshi is a friendly mid sized town. The street markets are nice to visit and there are numerous day trips to experience. It is great to visit before or after your Kilimanjaro/Meru hike or safari. People are friendly and helpful here and I felt very safe.

Walk around the property. Many things to do in Moshi. Indioitaliano has the best Pizza in moshi. Be sure to get a view of Kilimanjaro. From the rooftop bar. Rafiki Supermarkets have a great selection of items. Waterforlife statue at round about on the main road. If Hostel life is for you make sure to see what Hostel Hoff has to offer.

The only reason to go to Moshi is a jumping off point for...

The only reason to go to Moshi is a jumping off point for climbing Mt Kilimanjaro and/or safari. The town itself is a working medium size town, some catering to tourism, somewhta scruffy. No nice area to walk or anything particularly interesting.

The weather is great - quite cool at this time of year.

The weather is great - quite cool at this time of year. The town is clean and well labelled. It is a small town so its very serene and has little traffic jam. I consider it a great stop-over if heading to Dar es salaam by road from the Kenya side.

It's a clean city, the people are very friendly and helpful. The club vibe is amazing. For Touring around and climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, i recommend Fred's trekking and safaris. They are the best.

Our host Lady and the team were excellent. We were greeted with fresh juice and a warm wash cloth on arrival which was a lovely welcome. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The grounds are lovely and the lodge is close to facilities in town but easy to drive to other locations from, including the airport. The food was cooked fresh everyday and everyone enjoyed the meals. The showers were hot and swimming pool (very unexpected!) was nice and cool. We felt so well looked after I feel like I have an extended family in Moshi now.

Our room was very beautiful, big and nicely decorated. The shower was very big, with hot water and good water pressure. On the contrary, the WC was quite small and not really comfortable. The work done by the gardener is incredible and wonderful, all the area looks like a tropical botanical garden with several kind of flowers and trees. The premises are quiet as the hotel is located in the outskirts of the town but not far from it. Friendly staff.
