Authentic village. We didn't want to be in a resort. The villagers were so friendly and wanted nothing in return apart from a hello back. There is a little shop just outside the gate for water etc. We got fruit for smoothies from the fruit stall in the village, they also sold sprite etc, there was a mobile shop and two lovely seafood restaurants. Our favourite was Mzuri run by a really friendly guy Hassan, wonderful succulent seafood. We loved it. It was just what we were looking for - authentic and local. The food was OK, the room was massively spacious and i loved it ,staff were friendly despite communication breakdown in most instances due to language barriers. The beach is gorgeous even at low tide, the rooms are spacious (I had the double standard just a few meters from the beach), cleaning is done daily and the hotel staff is very kind. The food is delicious and the prices are fair considering that we are talking about a tourist resort, cheap and good has never sounded good to me.
