Uzh is just a border town. Better than many border towns but still not a whole lot going on. The Old Town, is quite pleasant. Most importantly, it is safe there. Small Ukrainian city with normally around 50.000 people but now due to the war around 100.000. City dosen't feel crowded of that reason. Vist the beautiful Chatedral which have free acces. Also nearby castle is worth a visit. You will find all kind of restaurants where you can enjoy the rich Ukrainian cuisine as well as international dishes. Taste the excellent Transcarpatian wine which over recent years has grown remarkebly in quality. Nice and and beautiful city in Transcarpatia just next to Slovakian border. A little crowded due to many internal refugees but doesnt feel bad. You don't notice war. A very interesting Ukrainian city, with a strong Hungarian...
A very interesting Ukrainian city, with a strong Hungarian heritage. The castle and attached outdoor walking museum are always interesting to visit. There's a small, but lovely historical city centre, and a great river walk. There's a number of nice parks. What I enjoy about Uzhorod, is that it is a very walkable city. It's not necessarily jam packed with museums, and other such tourist attractions, but it has a great atmosphere, and lots of good restaurants. I live in Ukraine, and have made Uzhorod my summer vacation spot. I highly recommend a visit.Guest review byDeanUkraine

Everything was clean and well-maintained, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The only downside was that nobody at the reception could speak English, which made communication a bit challenging.
