We loved our stay at The Moxy. The location is amazing, right in the heart of Williamsburg. It was nice to be so close to the parks on the waterfront and so many great restaurants. Very easy to hop over to LES in Manhattan. The staff were so lovely and we really enjoyed having our morning coffee in the lounge area each morning. Also, we stayed with our pup and she was treated like part of the family. Excellent place !

FAQs about hotels in Brooklyn

The Giant of New York

Immortalized in popular music, culturally diverse Brooklyn has achieved almost legendary status. On the western end of Long Island, across the East River from Manhattan, this huge NYC borough is so densely populated that if it were its own city, it would rank as the 4th largest in the US!

The borough is connected to Manhattan by 3 bridges: Williamsburg, Manhattan and the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. It's also connected to Staten Island by the lengthy Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Ocean-going liners pass under here before docking at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook. To the northeast, Brooklyn Bridge Park has some of the best views of the Manhattan skyline, while southeast is the huge Prospect Park.

On one edge is Brooklyn Museum, the country’s 2nd largest art gallery, and just behind is the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens whose cherry trees bloom a vibrant pink. To the east are some hotels near JFK Airport, and there are more in neighboring Queens.

At Brooklyn’s southernmost tip, Coney Island’s historic boardwalk has appeared in several films. Renovations are underway to bring it back to its former glory, and the revamped Luna features a historic wooden roller coaster. Also historic is the northern Greenpoint district with its elegant 19th-century houses.

Cheap Brooklyn hotels are great alternatives to accommodations in Manhattan, so check Booking.com for the best deals.

Free parking!

Free parking! Rivera's bagel cafe, Sushi King and Have a Bagel were great! I met up with friends who lived in the neighborhood and we went into Manhattan and did touristy things. We rode the tram to Roosevelt Park for a good view the price of a subway ticket, which was awesome!

We love staying in Brooklyn whenever we come to NYC.

We love staying in Brooklyn whenever we come to NYC. Our son, daughter-in-law and grandson reside in Carroll Gardens, them of course being the main draw and reason for us choosing to stay in Brooklyn. Now being familiar with the area, however, I would highly recommend Brooklyn as the place to stay when visiting the city. It is very family friendly, has numerous great restaurants, bars and live music and is very aesthetically pleasing. We love walking down the brownstone lined streets, seeing the many piers so creatively designed for families, going to the Brooklyn Promenade, seeing the beautiful views of the Statue of Liberty and lower Manhattan. Lastly, it is very easy to get from Brooklyn into the city. The subway system is much easier to navigate than what one may think!

It was great to experience New York from Brooklyn.

It was great to experience New York from Brooklyn. There were so many cool cafes, bakeries (Radio Bakery, Bakeri) and restaurants. It seems to be a very happening place now and has some great places to explore along the waterfront as well as in their parklands. (Prospect Park was an awesome place to do a bike ride around - on the easy to use electric bikes.) The bridge walks over to Manhattan are a big hit and give a fantastic view and perspective of New York and it's surrounds.

We loved Brooklyn!

We loved Brooklyn! Manhattan was nice to see but it was crazy busy. We stayed in Red Hook and we enjoyed using the ferry’s and subway. We felt safe walking around we found great restaurants and nice people. If we ever come back to New York we will definitely stay in Brooklyn. We loved going to the Brooklyn Bridge Park, Time out market place, Mark’s pizza, The Lobster pound both in Red Hook. Red Hook is within walking distance to the Brooklyn cruise terminal.

Wonderful place to walk around. Food is amazing.

Wonderful place to walk around. Food is amazing. Walking the Promenade is over the op. Go down to the pier and catch a ferry for a terrific Manhattan view. Stop at Governor's Island and tour the old fort. Back in Brooklyn walk along the river catching views of all the converted piers. Loads to see, bring good walking shoes. That Brooklyn Bridge will get you into another world.

This was the best accomodation of our USA trip. The Lodge has a really good balance of price and quality of services. Room was really carefuly cleaned and the room service was coming every day. I liked the breakfast as well, it wasn't the most luxurious one ever, but had everything we needed like eggs, fruit, coffee, muffins, juice, etc. You can also take a nice walk from this hotel towards the bay and Brooklyn bridge.

The location and atmosphere are superb and we had a very nice room with view. The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated, a decent size room for New York and a very good shower. Breakfast is not included but plenty of choices to order at the cafe or bar downstairs or around the corner of the hotel at other places. Easy to walk to the metro going into Manhattan or take a bike to visit Williamsburg or Brooklyn.

The hotel is in a pretty good location in Brooklyn, about 3 blocks from the nearest subway stops and takes about 30-40 minutes total(depending on time of day) to get to downtown Manhattan. The check-in was easy, the room was nice - standard sort of room with a nice bed, a TV, a little coffee machine. Everything worked in the bathroom, soaps and towels provided. Wifi worked well!

The location! Right in the heart of Williamsburg with its incredible restaurants, bars and music scene. Stayed here in Brooklyn rather than manhatten. Quieter, nearer manhatten and Brooklyn bridge. Use air train and subway to get from JFK. Subway into manhattan easy to negotiate. Hotel really nice. Rooms quite large and very clean. Breakfast included in our stay.
