Our main goal for this 3 day/2 night trip was to enjoy the changing of deciduous leaf color in autumn. Scenery, particularly several miles north of town, was gorgeous with the autumn aspen leaves looking like gold coins dangling from invisible strings hanging from branches as the breeze blew by with the background of evergreen trees. The main tourist attraction of Chama is the historic, day long train ride from Chama to Antonito through beautiful mountains and river valleys where an extensive lunch buffet is included.
