Traffic is unbelievable. Cost for restaurants is unbelievable and food not good where it's fast food also expensive. People are living in Motel 6 as if it's an apartment. I guess government pays for part of rent. At 60 a day it is unaffordable unless welfare picks up difference. Last time I was there more were living there w/children & smoking weed outside near cars. It doesn't scare me but the motel needs new beds, new linens ( mine had a burn hole by a cigarette), and HEAT available in rooms. Wet and rainy left the room very cold. For 20$ more a night -- I get a better bed, breakfast, and less noise and able to heat the room. If I have to go back to Temecula, I'll pay extra at another motel. My choice for Motel 6 has diminished over the properties for several years now. Not well maintained as it used to be.
Old town was just down the street and a wonderful area to explore. The wine area was close by as well. The location of this hotel was perfect. Close but yet not so close you were disturbed by late night noise.
Parks and playgrounds are awesome for families. Pechanga Casino is fun and there is a huge mall with shopping, restaurants and an arcade with a bowling alley. Beware of mischievous teens on ebikes. They're all over the place and can make a quiet visit to a park extremely annoying.
The staff is always attentive & friendly. I was asked by Nathan if I wanted a receipt. I said yes and was presented with a printed receipt. I asked one of the young women who worked the Front Desk on a previous visit & was told I couldn't get a receipt since I did not book with hotel directly. Not good customer service. I was a little irritated by that. Did not address it with anyone else. I let it go.
There were nearby restaurants and the antique shops were plentiful & enjoyable to browse & find treasures. There were a lot of local wineries that had restaurants. The wineries were not too far from the hotel.
Temecula is a fun alternative to the Napa wine area for wine lovers. Lots of wine tastings there and plenty of shops and restaurants. if you like to gamble yp will love it. I was there for business but would have spent a couple of days there if I wanted a get away.
