From the moment I arrived until I left, I was well-tended to. Each staff member from the security guard at the gate to the butler at the door were well-trained in their area. Shadreck who works as a butler went above and beyond in his duties. One evening he brought one of my visitor's cars around in the pouring rain. He had a few of my items steam cleaned and was always upbeat and cheerful in our interactions. I also enjoyed access to the 24/7 pantry although some of the desserts were not fresh. The property itself is peaceful although I expected a slightly more dramatic pool and view of the city however, I went there to rest and that is what I got. It was a seamless experience.

The two rooms we had for our family, had everything we needed for our short stay. The room and bathroom were larger than your standard hotel accommodation. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help out. We felt safe in the property and it was surrounded by a beautiful garden. The breakfast which was included was also delicious.

The staff were highly efficient and nothing was too much for them. The rooms were spotless. The Lagoon and swimming pool were amazing and it overlooked a stunning vista. It was very relaxing. I enjoyed the spa and the Games room.

I have to say when I booked the hotel to attend the post-graduate ceremony of my husband, I had only one criterion, which is for us to stay within 10 mins of the university of south Africa. So when we reached the location of Marriott Protea, not only were we given early check-in at 1 pm, the staffs were excellent. The value of the hotel not to mention its location and it's amenities exceeded our expectations! We will be back. The location while next to the stadium didn't have any congestion as there was no game or concert that weekend. We will certainly be back.

We have been come to Pretoria since 2018 and for the first time we visited while the Jacarandas was in full bloom. My wife went crazy when she saw the blooming Jacarandas. We took quite a few photos of this event. It was so beautiful.

The intimidation of Local Taxi operators to Uber and Bolt transporters should really be address as a matter of urgency. When using Gautrain, you have to walk away from the station to catch a ride and when it is raining, like it was when I arrived you can only imagine the inconvenience.

Pretoria was a great experience overall — the city has a lot to offer and I enjoyed exploring it. That said, I’d recommend visiting with someone if you can. Traveling alone is fine, but it’s definitely more enjoyable when you have company to share the experience with.

I lived in Pretoria for 5 years before moving to the UK. Pretoria has its own special uniqueness. I was pleasantly surprised to see how many of the smaller shopping centers had been upgraded and new shops added. However, the road works on Solomon Mahlangu Drive have been going on for years, I have been gone for 2 and a half years, and that particular road is still a nightmare. One word of warning to travellers is don't presume that because the traffic light is green you can go, way too many drivers think a red light means they can keep going. Saw a few nasty accidents while there. I found in general, SA has become ridiculously expensive, especially when eating out. Keep valuables in the trunk of your car and always check that your vehicle is locked before walking away to do shopping.

Was here a year ago & still the Anew Hotel Pretoria Central is still lagging far behind other Anew group hotels in the highveld.Repetitive television channels as the bouquet is not cleverly done...why must i head to the downstairs bar/restaurant for certain channels which are personally omitted by the staff in charger & i did personally pointed it out the last time i was here but i guess no one cares,no smart television in the rooms like other standard Anew hotels i been too.....total bore
