FranceSited in a working cattle farm, it is a very quiet stone cottage 5kms away from the N1. Access is by a good gravel road. The cottage has every thing you might need with a double bed and 2 small one. The kitchen is well equiped with microwave, stovetop, toaster and kitchenware. There is also a big braai area with a large table. The parking has a roof which was useful after the big storm with hail of my first night.

The oldest town of the two Boer Republics with a magnificent Voortrekker Monument. The town itself looks neglected with most of the businesses closed. There are no restaurants and one should plan accordingly.

The please was an antique please with old furniture, actually everything is old there or should I say ancient, water pressure was too low, TV is too old and no remote, bed is making noise as you turn whiles sleeping, no visible electrical plugs closer for use.

As with most small towns in South Africa, Winburg is struggling to maintain good infrastructure, The historic old town is sadly diapering. The old Dutch Reformed church in the centre of the town is a must see.
