Lily at the Mutianyu Homestay was an incredibly warm and welcoming host. The room was clean and cozy, and the location—just minutes from the Great Wall—was unbeatable. Her and her family are so lovely! She and her husband cooks the most amazing food and he dropped us right at the entrance! They were very helpful towards my family member with mobility needs. Highly recommended for a peaceful, authentic stay!

Beijing Mutianyu Great Wall Wangshanyuan Homestay se nachází v destinaci Chuaj-žou a nabízí kola zdarma, zahradu, sdílený lounge, terasu a výhled na hory. We are two introverts from Australia, so we don't usually gravitate towards homestay or BnB style accommodation, however pickings are slim here in Mutianyu! So we selected this homestay and were so pleasantly surprised by our experience. Staff (this is a family run business) are kind and professional, offering friendly service that isn't overbearing. We were picked up from and dropped back to the Beijing Train Station in a clean and comfortable car for a very reasonable price (it's 90 minutes each way, not a short trip). The accommodation is already inside the scenic area so you can very much avoid the whole shuttle bus situation, and we were dropped off right to the base of the climb! We recommend trying to go in the afternoon, it was super quiet as we'd missed the tour busses and the crowds who mostly arrive in the morning. Most of our pictures have no other human beings in them! We had a delicious vegan dinner and breakfast provided with no fuss and lots of flavour. When paying for our room we also paid for our Wall tickets and add-ons which were purchased and organised on our behalf. Bonus adorable kittens and cats roaming outside the property 😍 The room had a beautiful view of the mountain and even a tiny peak of the wall. Bed was comfortable and the room was warm and clean. Plenty of water and snacks provided too. Very simple room with just the bed, one bedside table, a small seat with table, and a small bathroom, but that's all we needed.

We were extremely happy with our decision to stay at this lovely family-run accommodation. The hosts were exceptionally kind and helpful. We were welcomed with warm smiles and a basket of fresh fruit, and on the day of our departure—when we were running a little late—they even offered us a free ride to the bus station. Such genuine kindness truly made our stay special. Our room was spotless, beautifully decorated, cozy, and perfect for a good night’s sleep. The beds were very sturdy and comfortable. The whole place has a peaceful family-home atmosphere, and it’s clear that the owners take great pride in keeping everything clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The property is set in a quiet little village with a couple of nice family-run restaurants just a short walk away. It’s about a 20-minute walk to Beijing Wtown and the bus station along a quiet paved path by the river. The walk is lovely, with beautiful nature views, and there’s even a small riverside park with towers and sculptures that light up beautifully in the evenings—great for photos. If you prefer not to walk, there are plenty of Didi drivers available at any time, and the ride to the accommodation costs only 10–14 RMB. For travelers coming from Beijing, I highly recommend taking the direct bus, which costs 48 RMB per person and takes around two hours to reach the Water Town Bus Station (cash only). The bus leaves from Dongzhimen Outer Bus Station (东直门外) at 09:00 and 13:00, and returns from Water Town at 12:00 and 17:00. Just wait beside the brown signboard that lists all departure times. Beijing Wtown itself is absolutely stunning—full of canals, traditional architecture, small cafés, restaurants, and even boat rides that glide through the waterways, making the whole place feel like a fairytale village. In the evening, when the lights come on, the scenery becomes truly magical. At 20:40 there is a drone show with the illuminated Great Wall in the background, which is unforgettable.

Mutianyu Great Wall Jingshan First House Boutique B&B se nachází v destinaci Mutianyu Village a poskytuje ubytování s bezplatným Wi-Fi a klimatizací, sdílený lounge a terasu. We stayed in the family room, which was gorgeous with a hanging bed, hot tub and projector. There was a terrace with views of the Great Wall. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, even driving my family to the Great Wall entrance.

The location was perfect to spend the night near to the great wall. The owners were very kind all the time and very flexible, although they do not t speak english they use translator and are very comunicative at all times. We asked for the transfer from the airport to the accommodation and from there to Beijing city centre. They help us to get to the great wall. They also have a restaurant in the building were you can have breakfast/lunch or dinner, we enjoy the food a lot. Wish them all the best.
