We fell in love with this quirky little spot the moment we arrived. Three vintage caravans have been transformed into the most charming accommodations we’ve seen, and we’ve traveled to over 70 countries, staying in many hotels, including many boutique and luxury ones. We stayed at the Avion, but Argosy and Airstream looked as lovely. Positioned perfectly, just meters from one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful beaches. Several good restaurants are within walking distance, as well as a small grocery shop. Even more restaurants to choose from in nearby Samara, just 5-minute drive away. La Caravana is intimate, magical, and utterly unique. I would recommend it to a friend!

The property is a wonderful modern house in a gated community approx 150m from the beach as the crow flies, a bit longer to walk as you have to go round the roads. But there is parking down by the beach at Hermosa and also at Playa del Coco, another lovely beach nearby. There were some easily portable beach chairs we enjoyed. The property is super clean, beautifully fitted out and has rescued us from a super dirty beach house we had rented. Everyone happier here. There is a well maintained and cleaned communal pool which in the time we didn’t use sadly but we were impressed that someone was cleaning the tiles around the pool .

Sonia was a delightful host and made an absolutely fantastic breakfast each morning. I will stay here again when I return.

Hospedaje Rancho mi Tata beschikt over uitzicht op de stad, en biedt accommodatie met een terras en een patio, op 32 km van Sky Adventures Monteverde. This was by far the best experience I have ever had in Costa Rica. I traveled to 15 different locations over 6 months and this host family was the most generous and helpful family I have ever known. They brought me food all the time (fruit, meat, vegetables and snacks) and even gas at one point for my car. They even took me in their Jeep to see a sunset. The facility itself is clean and impeccably maintained. The house has everything you need to cook with. You hear howler monkeys in the trees across the street and chickens next door. The outdoor living area is perfect for larger groups or families. There is a convenience store a short walk away where you can find some basic staples including some meat and vegetables but it is really small (one room) so I would suggest if you come for more than a couple days that you bring groceries with you because the bigger grocery stores are about 20 minutes away. The best part is you are in the country surrounded by farmland. The yard is completely fenced in for dogs. I felt safe with a relative living next door. Highly recommend!
