I'm an American, but my 2 young children had never seen autumn leaves before. Dedoplistskaro received 4 days of our 5-day trip to Georgia because it was the perfect autumn leaves destination. Persimmon trees had the prettiest leaves. We're so glad we chose this quiet, beautiful corner of Georgia. Almost all our hikes and family adventures (except Lagodekhi and Vashlovani) were within 8 minutes from Maia's house. Each provided complete solitude other than a few cows and horses. In the distance, we saw shepherds from Pankisi Valley that had migrated hundreds of miles for the winter. The whole area looks very much like Otago, New Zealand. Maia's homestay was the perfect base. She had a beautiful, comfortable, clean home with lots of space for our kids. She cooked breakfast and dinner for us every day, and she used all fresh ingredients. Amazing food—lots of dill and other herbs. She took care of our family, she was kind and warm. She invited her grandchildren to play with our kids, and she taught our kids to make fresh churchkhela (much better than what you'd buy roadside). What a lovely trip.

The home is super comfortable. The view is magnificent. And the dinner cooked by his mother was delicious. We look forward another experience there!

Pankisi Wooden Cottage beschikt over uitzicht op de bergen, en biedt accommodatie met een terras en een balkon, op 49 km van King Erekle II Palace. Beautiful and peaceful place. The cottage is very cozy. The owner treated us with the most fabulous dinner. The 3 days of our stay was amazing.

Matilda Village is gelegen in Telavi, op 9,4 km van King Erekle II Palace en 9,4 km van Paleis van Koning Erekle II. Matilda village is in a quiet, more secluded place with beautiful mountain views. The cottage is cozy and the bed very comfortable. Getting into the property was easy and the host Ilia was readily available for any questions. Everything was very clean. I didn’t take advantage of the nearby pool access this stay, but it’s a lovely extra for guests to enjoy. I look forward to staying here again in the future :)

Sunny Kvareli bevindt zich op 16 minuten lopen van Staatsmuseum Ilia Chavchavadze en biedt een tuin en een terras. De accommodaties hebben airconditioning, een balkon en gratis WiFi. We were welcomed very warmly. Loved the location, close to town and an easy and interesting walk from Lake Ilia. The swimming pool and changing rooms looked wonderful, although we didn’t have time to use them. Work is still underway and it will be very splendid soon. There didn’t seem to be any cafes in town, and so we were very pleased to be able to order meals at the hotel, and to be served by the pool. A truly memorable experience. This is a good place to relax away from the tourist trail.

The warmth and hospitality of the hosts was exceptional and so genuine. This was the most lovely time spent with great people, great food and of course great wine. The accommodation is clean and comfortable and the pool is an added bonus. If you are looking for an authentic Georgian experience this is the place for you. We ate the family dinners, which was a must, as the food was amazing and took part in the khinkali masterclass and wine tasting. Everything thing here is spot on!

What a true find this special winery was for us. We left the more touristy (but lovely) town of Sighnaghi and stayed at Kardanakhi Estate for the night. We were lucky enough to participate in one of the most informative wine tastings we ever had. If I had to do it over, I'd stay longer to take advantage of some of the Master Classes offered, but also to do some sightseeing of different areas from here. The rooms were comfortable and the views from the terraces- spectacular. It was an informal, welcoming venue, filled with history and creatively restored. The food was delicious, actually some of the best (try the chicken livers cooked w/cherries!). We only had time for dinner and breakfast, but there were many menu items I wanted to try. The owner was super attentive and extremely interesting to listen to -filled with knowledge about wine making, and many others subjects, but all tying into and relevant to the vibe of this unique place. Buy wine here! And don't miss to taste the Distilled Grape Skin "Chacha" - we just had to take a few bottles of that with us too.
