Villa Ban Lakkham se nachází 3 minuty chůze od nočního trhu a chrámu Xieng Thong a nabízí moderní klimatizované pokoje se soukromým balkonem a výhledem na řeku. Ban Lakkham River View is very close to the main area but situated by the Nam Khan river making it easy to go back to the hotel for a break and a quieter place to be overall (construction was happening on the river bank while we were there but likely temporary /there will be noise early in the AM as many buses park on that street to go to the Alms Ceremony - but that’s simply your cue to get up and go to this traditional ceremony.) The rooms are lovely, very comfortable and clean. The included breakfast on the outside terrasse is a la carte with several options (the pumpkin soup with baguette is awesome). The daily fruit in a lovely glass container is a nice touch - as are the free lady finger bananas in the reception area. Finally the staff is very attentive and friendly.

The bed was very comfortable and just loved the plump pillows, 2 each even! Tak Bat is right on your doorstep, and a lovely little family run Lais Restauranr right next door with great food and a world of charm. Highly recommend a stay at Xiengthong Villa.

The beautiful tented river view villas with their big balcony was pure indulgence, from there we got the chance to observe the life of the Lao people farming and going about their lives by the river. We were also entertained several times a day by the elephants being fed and bathed by excited tourists! The landscape was simply magical from dawn to dusk, from the heavy morning mist to the star filled skies at night. The sense of peace and tranquility, unfortunately broken by Mr Pun blaring loud Lao music over 2 days of the New Year, and relaxed pace of life in Shangri-Lao will stay with us for a long time - until we return! We were very well looked after by Fong, her team plus all the guys in the resort - a big thank you!
