Staff was amazing, even got a simcard for free and he helped with everything! Very cute quiet place close to the airport, perfect for before or after airport travels!

After receiving a great tuk tuk tour around Negombo from Leon at the start of our trip, we stayed at his guesthouse before our departure too due to his friendliness and consideration. Our room very clean, spacious and light, with a powerful hot shower in the bathroom. The location is great, close to the city centre with restaurants nearby, but down a quiet canal road to enjoy the peace. We read and listened to the birds on the terrace during the day, while drinking home made lime juice before an excellent dinner of home-made prawns from Leon. A wonderfully kind, funny, and diligent host (and now friend), we will recommend Star Canal Cottage to anyone wishing to visit Sri Lanka :)

Lovely hosts. Very helpful. Amazing breakfast and service. Very short trip to the airport and a short cheap tuk tuk trip to the beach. Can arrange a pickup from the airport with the host. We will definitely come back!

It was our first night in Negombo after long journey. It was super clean, cozy and with beautiful garden. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They took us from Airport to accommodation during the night. Definitely can recommend, and try their breakfast ;)

Fitted with a balcony offering garden views, it also features an outdoor lap pool and complimentary private parking. - large room - comfortable bed - great pool - the best of all the breakfasts I had at hotels in Sri Lanka -a very short walk to the beach and several great restaurants - helpful staff

Run by a local family, Villa Shade is a charming and peaceful property surrounded by green gardens, just 4 km from Negombo City. Beautiful garden with home grown fruits, the staff is out of his way to assist, the room is perfect and the swimming pool is an amazing treat! Great breakfast and very quiet, calm vibes. We wish we could stay longer.
