At some point when I realized it was an hour past Babino Polje (walking) I considered cancelling and finding something closer to town, as it was our last night on the Peaks of the Balkans trek. I knew we'd be tired and I thought it might be easier to stay somewhere right in the village. But I read some reviews and looked again at the photos online and decided to keep the reservation. I am SO glad that I did. This was by far our favorite accommodation of the whole trek, ten days hiking in Montenegro, Albania and Kosovo. The atmosphere was just amazing, absolutely beautiful views in every direction. Alen was an excellent and hospitable host and speaks perfect English. He lived in South Carolina and has worked in all aspects hospitality and it shows. My husband and I are on our honeymoon and Alen set us up for dinner by ourselves above the other tables with a big stump for our personal table. It was honestly so sweet and romantic, and the food was incredible! Everything homemade and just delicious. We had a tiny cabin with no electricity and honestly it was just perfect for us. You can charge devices at a communal station. We loved watching the sunset over the mountains from the two swinging hammock chairs with cows wandering by. Later Alen made a bonfire and it was so lovely to sit by the fire and drink some wine and chat with other hikers. I can't say enough positive things about the cottages! Awesome experience. 🥰❤️

Everything was perfect, the house is big and has everything we needed - wifi, tea/coffee, kitchen amenities. The view from the terrace is fantastic. Very quiet, you can hear birds. We are so lucky to have found Gradine during our stay in the Prokletije mountains. After a short ride on a bumpy road ( definitely doable with a rental car), you will reach a beautifully arranged Camp with several chalets in the middle of the mountains. The views overlooking the mountains are breath taking and you will definitely be able to reconnect with nature again ( wifi works really well in case you want to stay connected!). We rented the biggest chalet and were pleasantly surprised. It was spacious, comfortable, great bathroom, huge upstairs bedroom and great bedding. The place stays fresh and you will have no issues sleeping at night with your windows open as it gets quite cold, even in the middle of July. We ate there ( dinner and breakfast) and absolutely loved the food. Huge portions which were deliciously prepared. We even asked for Kacamak one evening and our host kindly agreed to make some especially for us. It was so good! It is easy to get to the Prokletije national park and you will find amazing hikes there. Hrid lake is also right next door.

We were in winter time and the atsmophere is so cozy in this time, perfect for family. The snow was about 10cm. The cottage was really cozy. The owners are very hospitable and kind. There is a beautiful terrace with a seating area where the owner can make pizza, even brought us breakfast. A trekking park can be reached in about 15 minutes by car. Clean, cozy and all new. P.S Also would like to say that bed and bed sheets are exceptional!
