This place felt like paradise hidden among agricultural land with nearby jungles and ancient ruins. The host, Dominic, is so kind, helpful, great to chat with, and an excellent cook! He provided us with great recommendations for food, tour companies and transport. We woke up to roosters, toucans, parrots, and many other birds calling each morning and were served delightful coffee and breakfast daily. We also had the option of delicious suppers on site for a small extra fee. The beds were very comfortable and rooms clean / well appointed. The cottage is located close to the Xunantunich archeological reserve such that we could walk there and back with our adventurous kids. That saved us on having to hire a tour company for the day. This is an incredibly place with a very gracious and communicative host. Plus, my kids loved the dogs and cats on the farm.

Eduardo is an excellent host, sat with us and went through all the main attractions of bacalar including restaurants, food suggestions and tours. The place is absolutely magical and kept to the highest standards. The room is very spacious with a balcony overlooking the lagoon front. Eduardo also went out of his way to accomodate any requests we had and we really managed to relax during our stay. Breakfast is excellent and can be taken anywhere on the property. Kayaks were included, would def recommend a sunrise kayak ride. The rooms were spotless and the cleaning service was more than we could have asked for. The view of the lake and the sounds of the lagoon were spectacular to wake up to and return to at the end of the day. Cannot recommend this place enough. Genuine experienced hosts. Pictures do not do this place justice, 11/10.

Loved this place. Tons of room and a pool and ping pong table out back for when you get hot or bored. Everything is very well-maintained and clean. The host Lety was fantastic and very helpful too, sharing lots of very useful information for us out-of-town visitors. Easy ~5min drive to get to downtown Valladolid.

Our unit was clean, had everything we needed, and the living space and bedrooms were comfy. All the air conditioning units worked well. We felt that our stay was a great value.

Armin met us there and showed us all of the amenities. Muriel was amazing throughout our stay. She made recommendations and gave us invaluable advice. Will stay here or one of Muriel’s places in the future!
