The room: clean, spacious, well equipped, good shower. The breakfast, available until 12.00. The friendly, welcoming staff (although with one slightly morose exception in the late evening bar staff). Only 10mins walk to the Pantiles and very close to The Commons for walking. The fact that you can checkout at 12.00.

Room was good size and beds were comfortable. Tea, coffee was provided. As the name indicates the house is old and therefore the plumbing is kind of old as well. But it functions and that is all it matters. Hotel is in center of old town with all the restaurants, coffee shops and shops on the doorstep. Restaurant, and JC bar are connected to the hotel.

As all the Hotels du Vin we have stayed in, the whole experience was excellent. The room was lovely with a gorgeous comfortable bed and well designed bathroom, all of which were spotless. The breakfast was good. The location within the town was convenient and the town itself was interesting. Not inexpensive but worth every penny.
