Hotel Garni Anzengruber is located near the centre of St. Wolfgang in the Salzkammergut, 100 metres from the famous Weißes Rössl and the beautiful pilgrimage church. The hotel is beautifully and centrally located with a view over Wolfgangsee. The room was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The host is very welcoming and gave us great suggestions for activities. We really liked the atmosphere at the hotel too — it felt very homely and personal, unlike big chain hotels. We also really enjoyed the private lakeside garden, which was a perfect spot for sunbathing and taking a refreshing dip in the lake.

Management and staff super friendly, made us feel at home once we entered the lobby. They did everything they could to help and advise. Great 25m indoor pool and spacious gym. Very nice dining room with great breakfast.

Free WiFi, an indoor swimming pool, a steam bath, and a sauna is provided at Dormio Resort Obertraun, 300 metres from the shore of Lake Hallstatt. You can dine in the on-site restaurant and sunbathe on the terrace which provides lake views. Nice place to stay near to hallstat. Everything was good and we enjoyed staying here.

All rooms are equipped with a seating area and satellite TV. The rooms have a double bed with separate mattresses. One of the best decisions we made for our Hallstatt-visit, was booking accommodation at Pension Bergfried. It is located at Hallstatt-Lane, just out of the busy part of the village, but close enough to stroll everywhere - even walking from the ferry-harbour with all of our luggage was not that difficult! The reception-staff were very welcoming and friendly and Anke, our host, super - what a fine lady! Our room (see note below), was bright and clean, decorated minimalistic (which I prefer) but tasteful. Bedding and linen perfect and crisp. The breakfast served in a beautiful spacious dining-room, was superb! Would love to come back one day, or if not, recommend it strongly to stay here.

Family-run for 150 years and renovated in 2014, Seewirt Zauner is situated right on the historic market square in Hallstatt’s car-free centre and 150 metres from the waterfront at Lake Hallstatt. All rooms offer lake or mountain views. The location is the center of the city. Our room has view on the city square, church, mountain and the lake !! Also the host was very helpful and caring when my wife was feeling cold she provided extra heater to our room to make it extra warmer. It was a nice gesture, thank you !

A 5-minute walk from the centre of Sankt Wolfgang, Strandhotel Margaretha offers a private beach on the shore of Lake Wolfgang, a lakeside terrace, a bar, a sauna, and a relaxation room. Free WiFi is available. ⸻ We stayed for a week in August, a family of four with two children. Overall, the hotel is excellent – it’s in a perfect location and has a very nice private beach (including SUP boards and rowboats available for guests). Breakfast was good and varied, and the rooms were spacious and clean. Parking is not always available on-site, but it’s not a big issue unless it’s raining heavily, as the hotel provides free parking just a two-minute walk away. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant once – the food was tasty but relatively expensive compared to other restaurants in the area.
