Most rooms have a kitchenette with a dining area, fridge and cooking hobs. The location was superb. We left our car in an inexpensive carpark and did much of our exploration on foot. We were beside the lake, near the parliament buildings, across from the church (which kindly was NOT ringing its bells), and dozens of excellent restaurants. We drove to the sites further afield. We had selected the "Big Room 307" and were charmed by it. A separate bedroom, good bathroom, and a sitting room with sofa and bar stools at the counter. The breakfast buffet got us off to a good start each day. All the Reception staff were great with Martin setting the tone. Lovely to have met you all.

I could not have been happier with my stay at Hotel Phoenix. My room was perfect. Clean as can be, very spacious, comfortable, quiet, and inclusive of all the amenities I needed. The two men that run the hotel are phenomenal hosts—I was always greeted with a smile and they were beyond helpful in providing information about the area. Breakfast was fantastic each morning and I looked forward to chatting with the owner. My room was freshened each day, and each night my blinds were closed and I had a chocolate on my pillow. The sweetest! I could not recommend this small hotel enough! When I visit Reykjavik again, this will be where I stay.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. Will stay here again when I travel to Reykjavik again.
