All rooms have a view on the internal courtyard, where breakfast is served in summer. I think this was one of the most magical places I have ever been. Honestly, I don't know where to start... The architecture is impressive, the service impeccable, the hospitality wonderful, the room perfect. I think I only have praises and the certainty that I want to return to this time-space one day.

It offers a sun terrace and air-conditioned rooms with stone walls and views of the historical centre. Our room had the most amazing views of the historic center. It was worth the stay just for the view! But luckily, everything else was great as well. The room was comfortable with a huge shower. The staff were absolutely lovely and provided us with vegan croissants when I told them we were vegan. For us, the location was great as it was right in the middle of everything.

Ridola Hotel was designed in 1872 by Leonardo Ridola, a famous local architect. It still has original vaults and pavements, and its façade features a solar clock from the 1900s. The hotel is actually a very nice authentic villa, on good location, cca 10min walk from the Sassi di Matera. It has a guarded private parking (important for Matera). The pool area is very nice for relaxing. The room was nice, well equipped and clean, with good WiFi connection. The breakfast was amazing! And the staff is extremely kind and helpful, as locals they will provide you with all the tips you need. Really a recommendation, especially if traveling by car.

Air-conditioned rooms all feature a flat-screen satellite TV, a seating area and fully fitted private bathroom with a shower. Amazing place, just as shown in the pictures. Super convenient location and is actually inside the old town area. I don't always go for the breakfast in hotels but the one served by Monica was great. Overall, 10/10.
