Ryokan Asunaro: A Traditional Japanese Inn in Takayama. Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience. Very nice Ryokan. Room was super big that had sitting/tea area. We ordered the dinner separately and it was a very nice experience too.

Just a 2-minute walk from Takayama Station, Oyado Koto No Yume offers Japanese-style rooms with a colourful touch. Excellent location, comfortable rooms, outstanding staff!!!! Breakfast is wonderful, and the public baths were great. Lovely touches like sake tasting and yukata assistance were much apprciated.

Located just a 1-minute walk from popular Miyagawa Morning Market in the heart of Takayama, Sumiyoshi Ryokan offers homely Japanese-style accommodation in the historic townhouse building. Hosts are incredibly kind and gave us a warm welcome. The ryokan is very traditional. The japanese breakfast was amazing and we regret not to have booked the diner (it has to be 3 days in advance and when we saw how the breakfast was made we understood why, so make sure to book it). Location is very close to shops and restaurants. If you have a car, the host will guide you to parking spaces in the adjacent street. The ryokan has 2 onsen like baths shared among customers. Note: there are no private shower or toilet in the rooms.

Located in the centre of Takayama Historic District, Ryokan Tanabe 旅館田邊 is one of the most historical ryokans in the city. It features Japanese-style rooms and free WiFi in all areas. The food - breakfast and dinner - was amazing.

Situated at the heart of historic Takayama Old Town and just steps away from Takayama Jinya Morning Market, the traditional Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan offers personalised hospitality, hot spring baths... Perfect location！only 100m to ancient street. Big room, high-level service. Accomodate there, you could not only enjoy the hotspring in this hotel, but also other two in sister hotel (can birdview the town) and sister SPA (traditional Japanese-Style). Hotel restaurant is Michelin-recomended, as a foodie, I even think its Kaiseki quality is higher than some 1-star restaurant. Really appreicate my service staff Taki, a lovely girl, gentle and careful, hard learning Chinese:)

Hida Takayama Hodakaso Yamano Iori is just a 3-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station and a 10-minute walk from Old Town and Takayama Jinya and Miyagawa Morning Market. Amazing and super cosy friendly place!! Such caring stuff, you feel like a true Japanese experience with cozy environment!

Awarded in 2014 with TripAdivsor’s Certificate of Excellence, Takayama Ouan features traditional Japanese designs and tatami (woven-straw) flooring throughout. Close to train station, tatami mat flooring makes it very calm to stay in, onsen on the top floor and even free ramen in the evening

Ideally located just a 2-minute walk from JR Takayama Station and Shirakawa-go Bus Terminal, this hotel boasts a natural hot spring bath where guests can unwind. Free Wi-Fi is available in all areas. Nice and clean. Room is optimized for space but has everything. The Japanese-style breakfast was superb. Location is convenient and staff went above and beyond. No complaints!
