This design hotel is located less than 200 metres from the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima. It features a restaurant, a bar and in-room free Wi-Fi.

Hotel Anjo de Portugal’s bright rooms feature flat-screen TVs and work desks. All rooms are air-conditioned and have a bathtub in the en suite bathroom. Hotel location (5 min walking from the cathedral), cleanliness, staff, breakfast and free parking....all was perfect! We also had dinner at the restaurant and it was absolutely excellent. If we go back to Fatima it will be the first place I'll try to book.

With a prime location in the historic centre of Batalha, the recently-renovated Hotel Lis Batalha faces the Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The traditional Portuguese restaurant offers panoramic views of the Monastery. My room had a great view. Staff lovely. Good restaurant attached, which was useful. Breakfast good. It's also handy to be able to stay later than most tourists and see the monastery while quiet. Short walk from bus station.

Bamboo Garden Spa provides a range of luxury treatments and beauty therapies, and there is a library filled with thousands of ancient books. Quinta das Lágrimas has a golf driving range and a 9-hole course. This is a hotel of understated grandeur both in its older and more modern buildings. The setting , historically at the site of a romantic legend as well as actually within superb gardens are incomparable. The location, a 10 minute walk to the city centre is perfect. The staff are the most courteous and helpful you could find. The meals in the Bistro restaurant were of high quality and good value, served in this tranquil and most tastefully decorated suite of rooms, like a club or library. The extravagant breakfasts are served in a patio dining area beside the Romantic Garden, where the ducks make their ablutions in the tree-shaded pond as you drink your coffee. The weather was beautiful so the indoor pool was not used but looked to be a pleasant , if relatively small facility, within the spa area. The large, classically rectangular outdoor pool with ample, fresh and comfortable loungers, parasols and a discreet bar was a lovely spot after city tours of a late afternoon. (Don't miss the churches or museums, even a short visit is rewarding). The fascinating history of the place is so intimately bound-up with the story of this city as to make this a rare chance to live in the event. The wealth of art, literature and guidance as to the 14th century tragedy of D.Pedro and D. Inez available on site made for easy appreciation of the facts and legends relating to this aspect of Coimbra's history. As for the bigger historical picture, the staff were very happy and well able to advise on how to make the most of a 2 day visit.

Set in Óbidos, near the medieval wall, Casa Picva is a charming old guest house with a garden. Free WiFi is available and public free parking is available on site.

Some rooms include a seating area for your convenience. You will find a kettle in the public area. Rooms come with a private bathroom. Extras include free toiletries and a hairdryer. We had a wonderful stay at Casa Picva, located right beneath the walls of Obidos’ old city, directly across from a small gate leading into the historic town. The location couldn’t have been more convenient, and the private parking right by the house’s main entrance made things even easier. Joao, our host, was absolutely charming and welcoming. Upon arrival, he greeted us with two cups of homemade Ginjinha, the famous local cherry liqueur, which was a lovely personal touch. He then took the time to show us around the historical house and its beautiful garden, which has been in his wife’s family for six generations. As he explained the stories behind the pictures, furniture, and other historical items in the house, you could really feel how proud and emotional he is about preserving this legacy. He also thoughtfully provided us with a map of the town, highlighting recommended restaurants and must-see spots. Our room at Casa Picva was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a bed that ensured a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was served in the dining room, shared with another couple who was also staying in the house. While the breakfast was simple, it had everything we needed and felt just right for starting the day.
