Riverside Guest Lodge offers panoramic views of Grobbelaars River and Swartberg Mountains. It offers air-conditioned rooms and wooden cottages. This property is superb in all regards. The hosts, Elza and Albert, are gracious, welcoming, and ever so helpful. We just returned from almost 3 weeks in South Africa, staying in a number of guest houses. Riverside was our most enjoyable stay. We regretted not having booked a longer stay at this wonderful establishment. The attention to detail in all matters of the accommodation are quite remarkable, really. This is a must stay when in the Outdshoorn/George area. The breakfast room and fare were very upscale without feeling stuffy. Food was delicious!

ABOUT DIO DELL AMORE Dio Dell'Amore Guest House is situated right on the shores of the Kabeljauws Mouth. Dio Dell Amore is a beautiful property, like an Italian villa in Tuscany. Louise is a wonderful host, friendly and helpful, and full of information about the property and the area. The breakfast is hearty, healthy and delicious! The property has a lot of charm and is beautifully appointed. The gardens are manicured and tastefully laid out. Overall, out short stay at Dio Dell Amore was very enjoyable and relaxing.

Located in the suburb, only 2 kilometres from the town of Oudtshoorn, La Pension Guest House offers spacious accommodation with free Wi-Fi. The property is a small piece of heaven. Every little details were though-out. We had a wonderful time there. The breakfast was delicious and we tried ostrich eggs. The host were our favorite part.

Delightful hosts Vivianne and Jan came to Swellendam from the Netherlands 6 years ago to take over this quaint lodge. They’ve transformed the 1880’s Manor House into a welcoming place for guests to check in, hang out and have a cup of coffee or tea, play games, look at books, and gather for the wonderful made-to-order breakfast they serve. This hidden gem of a place, just off the highway (R60) and only minutes from the center of town, has only 6 rooms, is solar powered, and is set amongst a beautiful, lush garden. The room was lovely, had a large bathroom with both a shower and a tub, and had an outlet near a mirror in the bedroom so one can do their hair. (There are no electric outlets in bathrooms in South Africa.) This was the only time in our three weeks in South Africa, that we had a hair dryer. Along with your room key, you get a driveway gate opener. One needn’t worry about safety here. I wish we had planned more time to just hang out.

Bloomestate Swellendam offers stylish rooms and several sunbathing terraces on its expansive grounds. It features a saltwater pool and in-house beauty treatments. Cheré made what we thought would simply be a pit stop on our journey along the Garden Route into something very special with her attention to detail and desire to make our short stay special. We were on our honeymoon and Cheré pulled out all the stops to make our stay very memorable. Don't hesitate to book a stay here. You will love it.
