This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. It's design is beautiful and has incredible views. It is one of the best hotels we have stayed in anywhere in the world. The pungle pool King forest room is within the forest or so it feels., with a big balcony overlooking the mountain and the ocean. Lots of wildlife pass or fly by. The bed is super comfortable and the furnishings comfortable and stylish. The pungle pool lovely and hot. Every single member of staff is super attentive, friendly and helpful. From the second we arrived to the second we left. Attention to detail is fantastic, from the welcome drink and cool towel on arrival to the little gift of a wooden animal ornament. At the last minute we also booked and stayed in the Junior suite, which is exquisite, with enormous windows, a downstairs lounge and bedroom upstairs.

From the minute you walk in you’re greeted by friendly people. What was exceptional was how out of their way they went to make my stay above and beyond. My tours and transfers were organised at the last minute on my request and they always ensured I was taken care of. Led by a husband and wife team, everyone works together feeling like a family, and that’s what this hotel feels like: like you’re hosted by a family. You really feel guided, comfortable and safe. I thought it was exceptionally kind that my taxi driver was given a cup of coffee after a long journey. The service far exceeds what I experienced at other hotels. The hotel is new so the facilities are great and the rooms are designed in a clever and efficient way that ensures a very spacious bathroom. The bed is comfortable, everything is very clean: spotless. There’s also lots of space for co-working etc. Monteverde is exceptionally beautiful and the hotel is located in the town/village but all the activities aren’t far at all so it really is a great location. All in all I loved my stay, my expectations were far exceeded and I think everyone should stay in this hotel, you’re sure to have a wonderful experience. Thank you for such an incredible experience and the immense kindness.

Staff were very welcoming and knowledgable about surrounds and tours assisting us greatly with getting around and seeing what we had hoped to visit. Joselyn and Erica were so lovely and kitchen staff also very friendly and attentive. There was a resident sloth in the garden which was a treat. The grounds were maintained beautifully with many butterflies. Flowers in room which was also a special touch. Rooms were large and very comfortable. We loved our stay and felt very welcomed. Thank you.

Squeaky clean throughout the apartment. Location 5 minutes walk from centre and close to the restaurants. Balcony was excellent for bird watching. Apartement was more than well equipped even had fresh coffee, biscuits, eggs, butter and jam in the fridge. First aid kit in the bathroom was perfect for my hiking blisters...

Very nice apartment and the best thing - there are washing and drying machines! So we finally washed and dried our clothes after a few rainy & muddy days.

The host Jose was very helpful, he helped us book al the trips, free of charge, with pick up at the cottage. The bedroom also had a nice tv with Netflix as a nice bonus

We stayed in the 2 bedroom house that was detached from the main cattleya hostel. Basically the way it works is that you have a hostel featuring numerous private rooms on one street and then the next street over you have two x 2 bedroom houses that could be rented for larger groups of up to 4. We hired the later and have nothing but positive feedback. PROS - VALUE - Stupidly cheap. 30 USD a night for three people which is actually cheaper than 3 x dorm beds and afforded access to a fully self contained house with complete kitchen which allowed us to save even more. - SECURITY - Deadbolt on the doors and bars over all the windows. - LOCATION - Within walking distance to the main area of Santa Elena. Walking distance to bus station and supermarket. - GYM - located literally across the road it cost 3000 colon for a day pass. - CLEAN - ROOMS - The place had two seperate rooms both of which had comfortable beds. Air conditioning worked well. Quilts on the beds. Hot water worked well. A fully stocked kitchen with fridges allowed us to self cater to further save more money, - WIFI - Worked well and was quite fast. Fast enough to stream netflix without an issue as well as YouTube. - TV had netflix and YouTube and streamed without issue. - FRIENDLY STAFF - At the hostel we were able to book a few tours with the major companies in the region and arrange for pick up and drop off from these areas.

Excellent staff and hosts One of the best kitchens I have seen in any hostel Great common area Very clean Comfortable room, and clean bath room with hot showers While the main bus terminal is a ten minutes walk, the public bus from Monteverde to San Jose stops at a place one minute away from the hostel.
