The owner is a great guy to talk with, gives a lot of suggestions for places to go to and always tells you how to get there.
He has a big hand drawn map on the wall which is such a good idea in my opinion.
Everything was clean and prepared on my arrival, owner explained to me everything regarding the stay and answered all of my questions:)
Location is far from the city center so the surroundings feel more relaxing, there is also a great opportunity to talk to the locals.

Really nice apartment, clean and cozy, really value for money. The best stay in Kyoto. It's not near the city center but has bus stop in just 2min walk. I'll definitely recommend to my friends and family, also will be my first choice in my next visit in Kyoto.

If you are looking for a traditional ryokan, this is the place for you. Everything from the room to the small backyard garden was perfect. Everything was clean and tidy. This one day ryokan certainly provided a much needed rest for a hectic trip and it was good to take a break from the city.
Not to mention the hospitality provided by Sasaki-san and his wife which was splendid. Sasaki-san took a lot of effort and time to prepare our meals starting very early in the morning to ensure that we were filled up before we left. Both meals provided by Sasaki-san was nothing short of perfect. The meals were prepared fresh each day and very good. We highly recommend this place because of the peacefulness, experience and food. This is a good place to just rest and unwind before moving on to the next city. If you are driving, Sasaki-san will also reserved a parking space for you if you provide him an advance notice. When we come back to Kyoto once more, we will definitely take a day or two and spend it here.

If I could rate this place an 11 I would!
The apartment is so beautifully decorated with tasteful Japanese artwork and craftsmanship. The shower and bathroom facilties are great. We even had our private onsen, we could use 24/7. The kitchen was great. You sleep on the tatami matts. We used an extra mattress which made the bed very comfortable. The duvets and bed linen were of high quality. We receive a Japanese pyjamas to sleep in. It is in working distance to the golden pavillon. The buses go every 5-10 minutes, so it was very easy to get around. The host and hostess were so friendly and took care of all our needs. The hostess even washed all our clothes free of charge before we left. This has been our best booking sofar. We felt very much at home!

If you're looking for the authentic Kyoto Japanese style living, this is the place to be. I particularly enjoyed the small center courtyard where I spend time reading everyday. The neighborhood is lovely and safe. Every amenity is just steps away. If you can ride a bike everywhere, it'll be even nicer.

This house was fun! A machiya of the 21st century, full of gadgets, quirky and amazing, with every niche giving a different surprise. We loved the garden, had some dinners outside looking into it. We LOVED to use the bikes around the neighbohood, especially going to the bathouse, temples and restaurants - that made us feel really like the locals. The nearby Kyoto-style restaurant, and its next door sushi place are amazing. The location of the house is great - quiet old neigbohood, close to the center and ideal point from which to explore such a special city/province.
Offering free WiFi and free private parking, someya - Vacation STAY 33875v is situated in Kyoto, just 1.9 km from Kinkaku-ji Temple.

Kumiko was so friendly and the house is very traditional and cosy. The location is up in the mountains so it’s really peaceful, we got the bus and it was easy as we didn’t have much luggage. Both bedrooms were comfortable, the house has lots of amenities, and it was spotlessly clean.
