Before arriving, i loved the fact that they were so responsive with our messages. The property even texted us about our arrival time since we got lost and only arrived past 9pm.
The property itself is very well maintained. The room was spacious for my 4yo to roam around and play. They also had a lounge where they had hanko, coloured pens, crayons and even water colours. My 4yo loved going there to pass the time.
We were also given complimentary yukata to wear around town. It was a first experience wearing one for my family.
Definitely go for their breakfast options. They served traditional Japanese breakfast in a private room. And the menu was never a repeat.

The dormitory beds were in their own cozy little cubicles. An extra blanket was provided. The decoration was very Japanese and nice. The bed slept well. I also loved the atmosphere of this guesthouse! The owner is very friendly and hospitable. In the common area there were blanketed tables, which was great for your free morning coffee. Everything was very clean and in good shape. The location is wonderful and free parking was nice. The town has some good restaurants and everything you could need.

Just wow, beautiful location, amazing food, the staff were lovely. Not sure you could find anything more traditional. A really awe inspiring experience. The onsen was soo beautiful. A shame that the men get the most time in the Momoyama section as it is jaw droppingly beautiful and would be so cool to watch the day break from there. Great that you can take photos in the morning before you depart. So atmospheric at night. Not touristy at all and full of locals. Scrub up on your Japanese before you go!

The hotel seems a bit dated, but it more than makes up with old school charm. A lot of effort was put into creating an exquisite experience showcasing Japanese food and culture. The special care put into preparing the rooms, onsen and even the manicured gardens will draw you to stay longer at such a welcoming hotel.it is no wonder the current Emperor and Empress of Japan have stayed there a few times!
A bonus that the hotel is located about a 5min walk to the start of the snow monkey park!
Thank you for your kind hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and had fun wearing the specially prepared yutakas to walk around the hotel.
