The owner is remarkably hospitable for example he gives free transport to the snow monkey park. He is very knowledgab;le on the region around Yudanaka -where to eat out, where to ski etc. The hotel and looking after tourists is obviously his passion and not just a job.

Close to yudanaka station - the onsen was jaw dropping at night, and we enjoyed our dinner and breakfast course meals a lot. Service was great, and I appreciate the lift to yudanaka station the day we checked out.

If you ever do visit, I highly recommend Yudanaka Yumoto Ryokan in Yamanouchi. The hospitality, the atmosphere, the beautiful rooms – everything about it felt like a warm embrace. The okami-san was the kindest person, perfectly embodying the spirit of the place. It’s the kind of experience that makes you want to return again and again – a place that showed me peace, that showed me beauty. For as long as I live, I won’t forget my time here. The setting takes me to a past where samurai once sat here, sipping green tea, listening to the water as it trickled through the garden – a soft, serene sound that whispers of peace. Even the smallest stream in the tiniest garden can bring calm to a traveller's heart.

The hostess was the most accommodating, helpful, friendly hotel proprietor I have come across in all my years of travel. When there was an issue with our booking (our fault) and the hotel was full, she went out of her way to sort out an amazing space for us to stay that night. She goes out of her way for all her guests in all facets of their stay. The great location, close to the train station, and free ski and snowboard rental gear are added bonuses.
