The host family of four are very warm and kind. They clean the house very well every day. I stayed there for 11 nights. Every day I could walk to the temples, cafes, and alleys in the old city of Chiang Mai. It is a very convenient place to stay. There are traditional markets, night markets, 7-11, and taxi stations nearby. The living functions are very convenient. The room rate is very reasonable and the CP value is very high. I will stay here again when I go to Chiang Mai next time.

The location was amazing, with a quaint little coffee shop just outside its entrance too. Walking distance from lovely restaurants. Loved our private pool and the daily breakfast specials. Mango sticky rice for breakfast, beautifully served was such a treat. Our room was far prettier and more spacious than what we imagined. The staff were extremely attentive and we would definitely stay there again.

This was the best hostel on my trip through Thailand (stayed in 5-6). I loved the super friendly atmosphere created by the people who work there - they were meaningfuly engaging with probably every single person who stayed there during 5 days I was there, how it was clean and comfortable but not sterile, and the overall opportunities to meet other travelers there. Hostel is at a great location in Chiang Mai, and be sure they'll help you out with anything you need there. The room I stayed in (female dormitory) was also quite spacious, and the AC wasn't working like crazy like every other place. There was warm water in the shower, though not every second.

We really enjoyed our stay at Por Arak. The staff were very friendly and helpful - a special thanks to Cartoon, who greeted us with a smile and helped plan our trips. The breakfast was very tasty, with a great variety of hot options, selection of fruit, and coffee. We hope to stay here again next time we're in Chiang Mai.
