Absolutely amazing hotel - can't fault anything. The food is incredible - varied and fresh. The rooms are designed perfectly, highly recommend the beachfront - waking up to that view and sound of waves every morning was a highlight. The pool is always clean and towels on all beds. Gym is great and mostly empty! Spa also great and incredible massages. All very reasonably priced - I'd love to go again!! Highly recommend!

Ahmed came and introduced himself on the very first day, gave me his contact information and offered to help with anything I needed for my stay. He was very helpful during my 4 days there. The staff were all friendly and great. The location of Royal Mandarin was perfect. I was right on the beach and it was raked and kept clean daily. I couldn’t have picked a better location and would come back here. I have already recommended it to friends.

Our stay was great, lovely staff, great food and very comfortable and clean rooms. Would recommend it as a great option for families with teenagers. The twice weekly dinners and the live entertainment, on the beach were great.

Beautiful new property on the east coast of the island. Everything - rooms, service, food and entertainment was 5 star. Pleasant and helpful staff caters to every request.

Marafiki Bungalows is located on the beach in Kiwengwa,overlooking the ocean.Zanzibar International Airport is a 1 hour drive away.

The meals on site were very good with a great deal of variety, everything was fresh and well presented. The fresh pastries and fruit served with breakfast were delicious.All the staff are very friendly and want you to be part of their Marifiki family.( Marafiki in Swahli means friend) Some of the exceptional staff include, Suzie, Esther, Justina (reception)Baton and Jack at the bar, and Nyungai,and Mhusin in the dining room. The beach at the resort is not really suitable for swimming but we knew that in advance and since they had a beautiful clean pool we were not expecting to use the beach other than for nice walks when the tide is out. We took part in the complimentary yoga class offered twice weekly and it was amazing, overlooking the Ocean. We were looking for a place to chill out after our safari on the mainland and this definitely hit the mark. It was never really busy as it only has 19 units in total. Our friends and us stayed in 2A and 2B which share a building and overlook the pool and are close to the bar and restaurant with a beautiful ocean view.
