The accommodation was clean and exactly what you want before and after the trek, with a nice balcony and hammock. The trek itself was incredible. Bob is the best guide and helped me safely through the jungle, with much expertise about the wildlife, jungle and local culture. He knew fun facts and of course the amazing viewings of the animals such as Orang-utans, and views. Could have wished for a better guide! The accommodation in the jungle was basic but had all necessities, and a nice stream to cool off, and the food was so good.

Located on the beachfront, this property has a terrace and barbecue facilities. The homestay offers an outdoor fireplace, a 24-hour front desk, and free WiFi is available throughout the property. What an amazing place! Very clean, hot shower, great view, superb place to relax. Loved it!

The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, room service and free WiFi. The staff were so great. Andi organised us a great jungle tour and we saw heaps of orangutans. They also got us scooters to hire which was very helpful. The breakfast was also delicious and plentiful. Pancakes or scrambled egg on toast with a plate of fresh fruit. Great value for money, definitely recommend.

The villa provides a restaurant serving American cuisine, as well as free WiFi throughout the property. I very much enjoyed my stay here. I spent 2 nights before my jungle trek and 1 night after. I booked the 2 day/1 night jungle trek with them as well. I actually think that is the only way you can stay at their guesthouse, so they ensure that their trekking clients have accommodation. Communication with the manager, Dedycool was faultless, from the time i made my initial inquiry to when the driver picked me up at the airport. The room was spotless, the bed and pillows were some of the most comfortable I've had in 5 months of travel, and the AC did the job. The staff could not have been more welcoming, both upon arrival and every time I came for a meal or returned from an outing. The location outside of the village ensured a peaceful nights sleep. I enjoyed the 30 minute walk to the center, allowing me to see people going about their daily lives. The jungle trek was phenomenal in every way. Both guides, Edwin and Janet, were professional and got excited when we saw orangutans (we saw 7). The food both at the guesthouse and on the trek was very tasty. The trekking was challenging but not overly so. It was fun scrambling up hillsides using vines and roots as foot and hand holds. The camping was much more comfortable than I expected. The camping mats were thick, and the lightweight sleeping bag was just right for the temperature. The rafting back to the village was super fun and a great way to end the 2 days in the jungle. I'm very pleased with my decision to book through Sumatra Orangutans Treks.

The lodge offers an Asian or halal breakfast. The location, accommodation and staff are excellent! The price is extremely friendly. If you want, they will get you ice-cold beer and water. Room with fan, no aircon, but was comfortable with 33 degrees outside temperature. To access it, you need a safe but wobbly pedestrian hanging bridge. Jack’s Bar across the river has two terraces and serves food.

Guests are welcome to eat in the on-site family-friendly restaurant, which is open for dinner, lunch, brunch and cocktails. The owner was so kind. Let me stay in a slightly more expensive room inside without paying the difference and got a ride back to the guesthouse from the city center at night. I wasn’t there for long but definitely felt it was a good deal for the price. It is pretty far from the center of butik lawang. You can walk it in 20min or get a tuktuk for 30rp. The walk is nice. You get to see another side to the area.

I was particularly impressed with the location and the overall cleanliness of the resort. I am also extremely grateful to the resort owner for their assistance, from arranging transportation from the airport to helping with ferry ticket purchases, which made my journey to the resort much smoother. The food provided was exceptionally delicious and enjoyable. I had a wonderful time at the resort, making it a truly worthwhile holiday. I will definitely return in the future.
