Terra Alta
The farm stay comes with a satellite flat-screen TV. The kitchen features a microwave, a toaster and a fridge and there is a private bathroom with a hair dryer and free toiletries. The property has an outdoor dining area. Beautiful large lava house on a private rugged grass and fruit tree property in a quiet neighbourhood with a wonderful view but still within walking distance of the small charming town where groceries and coffee on the lookout can be found. A restaurant and "La Cabana", a dreamy chill-out bar tucked in the trees with stunning views is a 10 min walk towards town. A cul-de-sac is 5 minutes on foot the other way where at the end of the road you can sit on the lava retaining wall and listen to the pounding of the waves as the Sun dips below the horizon. Here you can contemplate the mysteries of life, if you are so inclined. The owner gave us a warm welcome and a tour of his extensive property. He was a charming and affable fellow, clearly spoken with a sense of humor, speaking and looking like the quintessential Azorean native gentleman we encountered frequently in our travels; willing to do anything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The kitchen came with all amenities. The TV might as well have had an inch of dust on it for all the good it served, for who would watch when nature, this pristine beggars the sense of awe of beauty overwhelming the senses. The upstairs sitting area and downstairs bedroom were comfortable and came with everything. The whole house was clean as a whistle. The hot showers had good pressure and worked well. The trap door was a fun, novel way to go from the first floor to the lower floor. One could eat in the 'backyard' at a wooden table, the front yard on a round stone lava table, inside at the clear epoxied rough hewn timber table (really a nice touch) or under a tent behind the house for a larger group. A hammock in a shady corner was so inviting after a full day's activities. Little green lizards were frequent guests outside during 'happy hour' or mealtimes. Shearwaters, large nocturnal birds circled overhead each evening 'singing' their haunting calls.

It's a simple traditional house, big enough for 2 people, with a big garden (and a view of Mount Pico). The house is clean and the wifi is strong. The bathroom is nice and clean with a bidet. The single bed is good quality. It's a kind of rural place with a traditional house up on the hill, in the middle of the village. If you like that, you'll be okay there. There are natural pools and hiking options as well in the proximity. You will need a car! For the price we paid it was OK.
It was a quiet location with an idyllic setting looking out to the Atlantic where I spotted many dolphins. It was very comfortable and appealing inside with furnishings. Outside it has a rustic charm. Raul and Susie were ideal hosts and could not have been more friendly and approachable.
Nice renovated house with very helpful host, Raul. Great view to the ocean from two terasses, from where we even saw dolphins. Located ruraly in a quiet part of Pico. A nice bathing area 10 a ten minutes walk away (about 100 altitude meters).
Everything about Quinta Pereirinha is absolutely perfect. The location is very central but also quiet and not on a busy street. The rooms and house are fabulous- the beds are heavenly! Not to mention how cool the farm and grounds are to explore. Hosts are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. I'd recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay on Pico- you will not be disappointed. Be sure to ask for their breakfast service or any of the other dinner/picnic offerings. INCREDIBLE.
the lovely couple of hosts dedicates their whole doing just around the guests. As hoteliers from Lisbon, they know how to cook and how to handle guests :) extremely lovely stay and extraordinary food. it’s all local and sustainable from the local farmer, the neighbours potatoes and milk. truly recommend this place :)
Nico and Ricardo were outstanding hosts, so friendly and caring! They gave me a tour of their farm, introduced me to "Anastasia " their rescue goat, and made me feel right at home. Highly recommend this stay!
This Farmstay was incredible! The house is charming - very clean and welcoming. We were comfortable and had an amazing ocean view from the living room. Plus, our hosts were fantastic. They were helpful, thoughtful and made our stay very easy. And they are great cooks - the farm fresh breakfast was the perfect start of our day as we headed out to explore Mt Pico and the island and our picnic lunch was spectacular. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it! Thank you Nico & Rick ♥️
