Nine Skies is the definition of boutique luxury. It is a small hotel with only 5 rooms and the service we received from all the staff was truly so personable this really felt like a home away from home. The design of the whole hotel is beautiful with a wonderful living room, with a cosy fire in the evenings, and our suite room was beautiful with a terrace. The pool has an amazing view over the tea plantation. All the meals we had were delicious. Our host was very friendly and helpful, organising day trips for us and setting up our own table with lots of candles for dinner by the pool one evening, and also set up our own private breakfast at a look out point which were both lovely experiences. This hotel is brilliant if you want a very quiet, secluded spot in the Hill Country with excellent service and food. It is an expensive hotel but it is worth the money.

The Liyon Hotel was an excellent experience for my family. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were very cleanly kept. The bathroom was clean and large, and the mini fridge in the room proved useful. The breakfast provided to us was exceptional and delicious. The hospitality of the hotel owner was commendable. The package is worth a lot more than what we paid, with such a good room and food for a very low price!

The hotel staff was incredibly responsive and helpful during our honeymoon stay. Although we didn’t have the mountain view we expected upon arrival, they immediately addressed our concern and moved us to a room with a stunning mountain view the very next night. As a gesture of goodwill, they also offered us a complimentary meal, which was absolutely delicious. The pool is fantastic, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the mountains, and the breakfast was very generous and varied – a great way to start the day.

This was my second stay at Thotalagala, and it was just as perfect as the first time! The bungalow is beautiful and the service beyond compare. Small and intimate, with beautiful rooms for relaxation and a fireplace room perfect for socialising with other guests. Coming into our room at night was a pleasure, with tea and hot water bottles waiting. The staff were so attentive, giving us a slightly better room and packing us a lunch when we left. We are definetly coming back!

Also really do a spa treatment - also best one we had on our travel through Sri Lanka.
