Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, Kurashiki
Situated in Kurashiki, 800 metres from Shinkeien Garden, 撚る屋 features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. The 5-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom and free WiFi. The property is allergy-free and is located 9.1 km from Mizushima Ryokuchi Fukuda Park. The most wonderful and stylish ryokan. The chef is a magician and the staff is so caring, helpful and lovely. The interior is full of style and thoughts. There are rooms with shower or with bathtubs.
I liked the setting of dormitory where everyone had their own privacy. I liked having a high bed and a little window. Super comfy comforter. Super Clean showers and cool vibe at the common area/restaurant. I love the staff, especially Sakura, she was so welcoming and cool. Location is in the historical Bikan quarters but on the back of all touristy crowds. Touristy superb location but meantime quite. The atmosphere there was awesome. Really loved it. If i won't come again then will highly recommend to everyone.
Property was conveniently located in the beautiful Bikan Historical Quarter approximately 10:15 minute walk from the Kurashiki train station. I believe it is the oldest ryokan in town. It was not overly luxurious, however, it was quite clean and comfortable. Our room had a private bath and a wonderful backyard garden. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and kaiseki dinners were so tasty and very authentic Japanese.
A very cool experience to spend a couple of nights in the art house. We originally wanted to stay in the art museum hotel on Naoshima Island, but it was 6 times the price and not available anyway. We somehow found this is an unknown gem, its creation funded by a foundation that brings together artists and architects to increase the presence of Okayama as an art destination. The light and design of this space are unique and interesting and spacious. The bedding was luxurious quality, as were the robes and white night wear and slippers.
Greeted warmly and professionally. We felt like we were checking into a 5 star hotel with the reception desk. The included breakfast buffet was great, after enjoying so much Japanese food for breakfasts, it was refreshing to be able to get a mix of western and japanese.
The location is superb, super close to Karushiki ancient town. I love the architecture of this building and the little river inside the hotel makes it more unique. Highly recommend this hotel for staying in Karushiki.
I’ve stayed at other hotels in kurashiki before that were around the same price. This one was unbelievably better. The location was amazing the food was delicious the room was huge and well furnished. It wasn’t a luxury hotel but I was blown away. Drastically exceeded my expectations. HUGE value for the price compared to other places in the area.
We spent one night here on our way to Naoshima and Hiroshima, and this hotel was the best one we stayed in in Japan - and the best value! It was comfortable and felt luxurious. The onsen was fantastic, the bed was comfy and the room had nice lighting options. Loved the billiards too. Breakfast was great, with mostly Japanese options and a rooftop view. We were sad we didn’t have more time here!
Superb breakfast, very comfortable and clean rooms
After many years of travel, staying in accommodation ranging from free camping through to 5 star hotels, this hotel ranks as the BEST VALUE by far. Can't recommend it highly enough.
The minimalist design of the hotel impressed me the most. Cleanliness and excellent hotel staff was commendable. Food is perfectly curated and would give it 5 stars out of 5
