The hotel grounds were truly stunning—lush gardens, tranquil courtyards, and a gorgeous pool that provided a peaceful retreat. The concierge service was outstanding, thoughtfully arranging a tour for the Alms Giving, Morning Markets and Kiang Si Falls that allowed me to explore the charm of Luang Prabang with ease.

Timeless elegance and breathtaking views of Mount Phousi—La Résidence Phou Vao is Luang Prabang’s most serene and storied royal retreat. Truly the highlight of our two weeks in the region. From the moment we arrived at the pier the staff was fantastic, especially to our young daughter. We just came from staying at a Four Seasons and the staff at La Residence far exceeded what we experienced there. The rooms, restaurant and ground are also perfect - the location is ideal for exploring Luang Prabang but retreating after dark to relax and debrief over cocktails. We are already discussing a return for next winter.

What a fantastic hotel! We ended our extending our stay to a week. Great location directly on the Mekong (rare!), but with easy access to town using the on-call shuttle service. The room was very spacious, with very high ceilings and nice balcony. Grounds were very relaxing indeed - loved watching the sunset that other tourists must travel in a boat to see! Breakfast also exceeded our expectations, with plenty of cooked Asian dishes as well as Western staples. Finally, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely a 'relaxful' experience!

The pool areas and amazing and to overlook the rice fields is a real wonderful experience. The room was awesome, so big, a huge bathroom, all the amenities.
