We had a lake view room, that besides the amazing view over the late with mountains in the background, also gave us a sense of privacy with a large terrace. A lot of great restaurants within walking distance Bathroom facilities is very nice

The location was in the heart of the old town and yet quiet and relaxing. The hotel contacted us via email with a pass for the busses and other activities. Both the city and the hotel exceeded our expectations. It was quite a lucky find.

Opened in January 2013, Hotel Mercure Fribourg Centre Remparts is located next to the ancient city wall of Fribourg, a 10-minute walk from the historic centre of Fribourg and the Cathedral.

The best place ever. I arrived in the middle of the snow storm (ok, I am exagerating a little bit but I was not prepared to it) and I felt immediately at home. A warm, relaxing, clean, quiet environment, with kind, friendly and efficient staff. The room was perfect, equipped with everything that could be necessary and full courtesy sets. Breakfast time was very well scheduled, starting at 6.30 (I did appreciate that because it allowed me to reach my appointments' location timely). The variety of food and beverages was enough to satisfy any taste and preference. Congratulations to the whole staff for making this stay unforgettable. I'll be back soon in Fribourg to try les meringues avec double creme de la Gruyere (I am not sure this is the correct way to write it) and, if possible, I'll stay there 😉

Quiet street, opposite the train station. Right in the old town, so atmospheric the minute you stepped outside. Reception staff were consistently excellent and most helpful. The room was very well laid out and the bed superbly comfortable.

I enjoyed the large contemporary room with huge windows and a stunning view of Bern, the Bundeshaus and surrounding mountains. Dinner at the Japanese restaurant was fun and delicious. I enjoyed the sauna and pool. The complimentary robe, towel and slippers was a nice touch. Free parking in the garage is a plus as well as the tram stop right in front of the hotel. All personnel were friendly and helpful.
