He guided us the unique flavors of each type of food and the best way of eating with various sauces and condiments. He took the initiative to give us pamphlets about the sight-seeing spots nearby. We took his advice and did another hour of touring to learn more about Atami. It was a very hospitable and warming journey we had had with this hotel. The Iroriyado Hidaya was the last stop on our two-week vacation in Japan, and it was by far the best! The warm welcome (incl. tea and tailored recommendations for exploring Takayama), the fantastic breakfast (Hoba Miso!), the Irori & Kotatsu in our room and the private baths made our stay in beautiful Takayama perfect. And when there was no taxi available immediately after checkout, staff even drove us to the station. Thank you for making our stay so memorable!
