Set within 33 km of Kumbichchan Kulama Tank and 34 km of Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Wilpattu, Leopard Trails Wilpattu features accommodation with seating area. Featuring a garden, this 5-star campground has air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom. The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a car rental service is also available. Leopard Trails was one of the highlight stays of our Sri Lankan vacation. Its glamping with a capital G, and very good value for money. Just a few km from the Wilpattu park entrance, we went on 2 safaris and of course saw Leopard, Sloth bear, elephant and a bunch of other species. But TBH it was the stay in this luxury camp, with its spacious safari style tent rooms, its wonderful staff and food that was amongst the best we had in Sri Lanka. I 100% recommend staying here.

With lake views, Nirvaan Safari Lodge is situated in Wilpattu and has a restaurant, room service, bar, garden, terrace and barbecue. Very peaceful location with wonderful staff. The night skies were beautiful and everything was organised very well. We even spotted a leopard on our safari trip. Would definitely visit again!

Situated in Achchamulai, Wilpattu Green Cabin features accommodation with seating area. The property has lake and river views. There is a picnic area and guests can make use of free WiFi, free private parking and an electric vehicle charging station. I had a wonderful stay with Riswan and his family. They truly care about offering the best possible experience to their guests and sharing the beauty of their region. They even managed to organize a last-minute safari for me at a very reasonable price, especially considering how well the day went (great driver, breakfast + lunch included) – $50 for a half day, $95 for a full day. As for the wildlife, I was lucky not only in the park but also around the village where the guesthouse is located. It’s not uncommon to see one or even several elephants passing by – though of course, that’s up to Mother Nature! Overall, a fantastic experience. A big thank you to Riswan and his brother for their kindness and for taking the time to help me plan my route. Good to know: there’s a local bus that runs from the village to Puttalam for 150 LKR, 1h, starting around 7 AM, with connections to many other destinations from there.

For the meals only option, safaris could be arranged with the camp directly, at an additional cost to be paid directly to the property. Quiet and cozy. The staff was phenomenal. We mistakenly got our dates mixed up (thanks jet lag) and showed up a day early. Staff was very accommodating and we were able to move up our booking by a day. Dinner was lovely and both afternoon and morning safaris were great. We loved our guide!

The place was exceptional. It was clean, spacious and well presented. the staff and the service was exceptional and well exceeded my already high expectations.

No words to describe how beautiful is the resort. It was the best place we stayed for the whole trip. The manager is super kind, the staff always smiling and attentive, the food super tasty and the atmosphere incredible. The rooms are nice and clean, and the furniture well designed. We also enjoyed a really good massage!
