Camping along the river was very appealing. The very strong rains made using the river impossible and it was quite damp for tenting, but that was not the fault of the proprietors. They arranged safari vehicles and guides and gave us very good advice about the length of the safari that would be best for our group.

The staff were fantastic and always ready to help answer any questions including “what bird is that” x 20. The staff were patient and knowledgeable and they made my experience amazing!!

The units will provide guests with a desk and a kettle. One of the best and most beautifully places we got to stay in during our travels. The rooms are huge, the outdoor bathroom is beautiful. Food was good, service was great. Did the safari with them and would totally recommend, super nice, we got to see many animals and the driver was really nice.

The on-site Rose Restaurant serves Western, Chinese and Sri Lankan food. This place is magical. It is an experience where you stay in tents, but you have everything you need, even the hairdryer. The view on the Jungle is amazing se even saw bih group od monkeys jumping on the roof tent and that was amazing experience. The nature around is so beautiful, beyond Words. When we came we were greeted with wet towels and amazing juice. The breakfast is buffet and is amazing. The restaurant on site has amazing food. Everybody is so friendly. The place is good starting point for Udawalawe national park and they organise everything for the safari, which was amazing. We saw elephants, crocodiles, buffallos and few beautiful birds including peacocks. In the evening we were relaxing in the pool and saw hundreds of bats flying in dusk. What an amazing sight. I highly recommend this property.

International and traditional Sri Lankan dishes are served by the chef on demand, at the main restaurant. Athgira River Camping offers a great outdoor dining experience as well as a barbecue dinner and cooking demonstrations. Real wild cocktails and a nice wine selection are available as well. The staff took care of us like a 5 star hotel would do. They organized a safari on the day and transport the next day for us. I was impressed by the quality of their services.

This unique tent is set on the border of the National Park and comes with a private bathroom.

Barbecue dinner is provided around a campfire. Free WiFi is available in the public areas of the property. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. In particular, our guide Solomons made the safaris and nature walk so much fun and he was so knowledgeable. We appreciated the upgraded tent!

- Pre-dinner drinks around the campfire and wine during dinner This ecolodge was enjoyable for my children, husband and myself. The tents were roomy and had flushing toilets and warm showers. The dinners were elegant on white tablecloth under the stars. The safari guide and driver did an excellent job pointing out elephant herds, birds and crocodiles at this park. I recommend this lodge.

The surroundings of the area are wonderful and rich in nature with the lovely waterfall at the back. The tent was very cosy and large.
