Situated in a 12th century Augustin Convent, the Pousada Mosteiro de Guimaraes overlooks Guimarães. Rooms are equipped with modern amenities including air conditioning and cable TV. Sensational setting, amazing backdrop. Felt like you were back in time while having the most modern comforts. The food and drinks were spot on too.

The owner Elizabeth and her family were truly loving and kind. The food was clean, fresh, and amazing. My room had a Feng Shui simplicity. It was so calm with great energy, as was the entire property. The proximity to the Penada Geres National Park and all the adventures it has to offer. Elizabeth had excellent recommendations on trails and activities. I loved the dinners and conversation at the end of the day. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away to the outdoors!

Staying here was a dream! The beautiful location inside a vineyard is itself lovely. The incredible thoughtfulness of the owners and staff make this exceptional. We really enjoyed the basket of breakfast, the arrival cake and wine, enjoying it outside with the birdsong and sunshine…Vinha is just down the road from all the sites of Ponte de Lima. Resting up on the sun loungers, enjoying the clean pool, the jacuzzi at Vinha was deeply relaxing. We also enjoyed the fire pit. Maria and Ana are very warm and caring. It felt like childhood summers where all your cares are provided for and you deeply enjoy relaxing in nature. We brought our cat and his tent and every morning he loved getting out into the morning sun. The design of the rooms is really smart with clever details like the door’s window design so he could watch birds outside all day.

The gardens are filled with stunning roses, laden orange trees and flowering olive trees. All the staff are absolutely gorgeous, so helpful and kind.

Easily the best experience I’ve ever had in Portugal and it is way too cheap for what you get. So clean and cozy everywhere from the room to the common areas. Smiles everywhere 😊

It felt like we were members of their family. Truly wonderful and accommodating people. + Family friendly + Atmosphere and vibe is the absolute best! + The huge breakfast is amazing! Fresh local ingredients including from bread, meats, cheese, yoghurts, coffee, fresh orange juice, traditional Portuguese tarts, homemade cakes etc. Everything you need! + Beautiful 5* facilities including a pool - even life vests for children are available. The owners were also very conscious of the dangers of the pool as we have 2 small children so they did their best to close/ lock gates and warn us if they were heading for the pool area. Super experienced and kind. + Lovely dogs too!

As someone who struggles to sleep, I particularly enjoyed the double glazed windows that keep out noise and the blinds that made the room pitch black at night.
