Hosts gracious, friendly, and helpful with restaurant recommendations and free parking location in Obidos and lagoon beach. Double bed very comfortable. Breakfast included the most delicious oranges I ever ate from trees right on property! Easy, free parking right outside on street. Highly recommend, would stay again.

This is really a cute little vacation house located right under the wall of Castelo de Obidos facing an open field. In the morning, you can watch sunrise that gradually lights up the castle wall to shining golden. At the night, when the wall lights up, it’s like fairytale magic. It is not even 5 minutes walk into the cobble stone alley old town with lots of stores and restaurants. The two-story house is exactly what you expected. The whole house was clean and well maintained with new and modern decos. Bathroom, especially the shower on each floor is the biggest plus! The hosts were very responsive. They provided detailed chech-in and out instructions that made the process smooth and easy. Obidos is a cute little town with lots of characters. We highly recommend visiting this cute town and stay at Retiro de Castelo.

Teresa and Jan gave us the best information possible to enable us to plan our visit around the area. Our room was so comfortable and we had a lovely warm welcome - it felt as if we were staying with friends.. Every morning we had the most delicious breakfast, with hams, cheeses, yogurts, cereals, breads - and we both relished the wonderful free-range scrambled eggs we had every day. Finishing our breakfast off with a coffee and pastel de nata was really indulgent - but we managed it. Everything about our stay was perfect and Teresa and Jan took time to help us in any way we needed. We would love to return and stay here.
