Such a lovely place! The staff were incredibly friendly - it was like having family around. If there was anything I needed I knew it was no problem to ask. The room and bed was lovely and comfortable and smelt amazing. I need to know what scent they use in the rooms! Breakfast and dinner were also delicious. If you're looking for a cosy place with lovely clean and warm rooms, friendly staff and excellent dining, pick this one! I'm going to tell my family to stay here when next in town.

We had booked 2 rooms for an overnight stay during our trip to Scotland. Location is perfect, parking and house are easy to find, there are pubs, takeaways and Lidl nearby. Both rooms and kitchen were big, very clean, tidy, and beds very omfortable. We received clear instructions for directions, parking and access to the house. We will definitely be back when going to Scotland or visiting the North East.

I stayed at The Eagle in Gateshead for four nights and couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment I arrived, the staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome and were consistently helpful throughout my stay — nothing was ever too much trouble. The room and facilities were spotlessly clean, which made the whole experience incredibly comfortable. It’s clear the team takes real pride in maintaining high standards. Everything was well-organised, tidy, and fresh. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay with genuinely helpful and friendly staff, I’d absolutely recommend The Eagle. A warm welcome from the host, a lovely room with a huge en-suite bathroom and all the facilities you will need. The grounds are large and well maintained and even though there is a road nearby it was a really quiet and peaceful stay.
