We visited Gretna for a family wedding, Dawn was a great host and made sure we were very comfortable during our stay. She is extremely hard working and does all she can to make sure you feel at home. Alison was extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly. Delightful breakfasts every morning. A very welcoming area for guests to sit and have a drink, relax and chat. Our room was spacious, clean, light and bright. Couldn't fault this property or our stay. Wish it had been longer than our 4 nights.

Classic decor combined with modern amenities made for a great overnight stop. The room was large with a very pleasant street view, yet quiet. The shower was strong with stable water temperature. Linens were pleasantly fragrant and the bed was comfortable, making for a very restful night of sleep. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Parking was free and right outside the front door. A 5-10 minute walk towards town center provided a number of restaurants with tastes for every palate (including ours). The lodge's proprietor is one of the nicest people we've encountered during our travels. All in all, a short but enjoyable stay at a strongly recommended property.

Our room number 12 on the ground floor had an amazingly comfortable King bed. Two great armchairs to relax in during the evening as well as a table and two chairs. The room was spotlessly clean. The breakfast options were plentiful and of good quality. There was parking for 4 cars at the side of the building. The staff were helpful and on hand when needed. It was within 5 easy minutes walking of several pubs/restaurants.

With a beautiful rural setting in the spectacular Scottish countryside, this small, family-run hotel is halfway between Lockerbie and Gretna Green, just off the A74(M).

The staff, especially Nigel, went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and that I made it to the wedding I was attending, as well as the airport the following morning, on time. I cannot speak highly enough of the service and accommodations.

Get what you pay for. Clean, basic, single room. Shower,(tiny), toilet, basin, kettle with all you need. TV and internet. What else would you want.? Had heard pub could be noisy and my room was above front door but apart from outside temperature which was not the owners fault obviously, slept like a baby.
