Loved so much about this independent hotel.Heracles is such a wonderful owner who takes pride in his beautiful establishment. He greeted us with refreshments, fresh juice and cake! Our room was spotless, like every other aspect of the hotel. Brand new washroom, balcony with a great view, clean and quiet...what's not to love! Make sure to order the breakfast- eggs from his chickens, marmalade from fruit picked in his yard, fresh blood orange juice from his own trees...absolutely delicious! Can't say enough about this place!

superb location, excellent facilities and very clean, highly recommend. Walked to sunset, wonderful taverna, lovely bakery a few mins walk away.

This is an old traditional house with creaking stairs and simple furniture with an exceptional location in the old centre of Rethymno. Our triple room was the one overlooking the street, with lots of windows and a decent bathroom. Nikos, the manager, was super friendly and helpful. His advice about what to do in town was excellent. All in all, very good value for money and a pleasant stay.

Great location, really close to beach (3 minutes) and bus stop where buses to downtown go every hour. You can still walk to downtown along the beach, for 30 minutes, it is a pleasant one. A great selection of stray cats to pet on the patio. Kitchenette was handy to cook something simple, can use air conditioner or leave air pass through metal shutters which are common in Rethymno.

Maria and her husband deserve an excellent review because the apartment is really well-kept in each detail, new, clean, large and beautiful. It is adjacent to the pool but arranged in such a way that privacy is preserved. The windows are large and the furnishings are well-kept. The breakfast by the pool is plentiful and worth the expense. There is a private parking in case you are by car. Also, there is a supermarket close to the house, very comfortable. Well done, I want to come back!

The house is on a fabulous hilltop location with two lovely terraces that overlook the sea and the mountains. Because of the elevation there is a wonderful cooling breeze. In terms of facilities everything was catered for with the addition of a washing machine. The second bedroom is separate and semi self contained with its own bathroom- would be a great room for older children. There are 4 or 5 restaurants within a few hundred metres that are all good and despite proximity to the house, the location is incredibly peaceful. As for the hosts, Maria was absolutely wonderful and even picked me up and dropped me off at the bus station!
