Good accomodation, The place was cozy, clean, and well-maintained. The hosts were helpful and kind. The location was ideal, and i can walk around to the city center. In the morning you will get a delicious breakfast and while sitting you can enjoy the beautiful scenery like in a village.

The owner is super kind, she adapted the menu to my dietary requirements and made me the most amazing tortilla in Sumatra, she also took me to town on her motorbike to start the bike loop around the lake. Everything was so easy and smooth, they have all the info you need to know to enjoy your time at the lake. She also arranged my transfer to Padang. The massage they offer is also worth trying it. Last but not least, the views from the cottage are incredible!

As a backpacker I stayed here in 1993 and - after more than 30 years - returning to Beach Guesthouse felt like stepping back into the good old nineties. Same beautiful spot right at the lake, same amiable family that runs the place and still the same positive vibe. It was great to be back here. The rooms are also still very basic, so if you're looking for luxury, this isn't a hotel for you. However, if you are looking for warm hospitality and a relaxing atmosphere in an idyllic setting, then this might be the place you are dreaming of. The adjacent Bagoes Café 'n' Resto serves delicious food, delicious juices and cold beers. And as you gaze across the calm waters of Lake Maninjau, you realize that life isn't so bad after all... Staff is super friendly and can help to arrange your onward transport. Motorbikes and bicycles are for rent if you want to go around the lake. Good to know that the lake is a popular getaway for local tourists and day trippers at weekends, so it can get a bit more crowdy (and noisy) in the guesthouse. During the week you probably have the place almost to yourself and it’s just peace and harmony.

A pretty and quiet place in the center of the Bukittinggi, with the kind support of Hasri, Melati, and all the staff. We spent such a good time during our 3 days stay in Bukittinggi. Hasri gave us many tips and help us with renting a bike for our stay. The breakfast was very complete and tasty. .

The room was very nice and everything worked perfectly. There are tiny shops and small food stalls in walking distance. Hendri is by far the best host I had in Sumatra. He brought me to see the Pacu Jawi and other sights around. He also tried to teach me how to play Koa but I will need a lot more practice!
