Fellow travelers, this is an absolute bargain, trust me! Pedro is as nice as a host can be, always paying attention to the details so that we had the best experience we could. The accommodation, although not in the centre of Waisai, is not far and the porch has outstanding views of the bay. Moreover, the bed is comfortable and big, the bathroom is well equipped and the AC brings a luxurious touch compared to some of the other guest houses. In terms of the food, they serve both breakfast and dinner included in the price and they're both varied and delicious. If you want to have a beer watching the sunset, you can also buy them directly from Pedro. Finally, he rents motorbikes and happens to know all the necessary people to make the experience of Waisai truly complete. To sum up, this place exceeded our expectations and we feel that it will be much busier once more reviews will pop up, as he only opened it in August 2025.

Words can't describe how amazing the experience was. Paparisa is a brand new, small, private and secluded homestay with the nicest houses in Kri Island by far (compared to all the other homestays). The place has five "resort level" cosy houses with ensuite semi-open air bathroom (rare in Raja Ampat), big nice comfortable beds with mosquito net, a small private terrace in each house to relax or to watch the sunset and a small restaurant to enjoy your meals (they are building a nice sunset view big restaurant which they said will be ready by September 2025). They provide towels, toilet paper and linen so no need to bring yours. They have some toiletries but better bring some extra shampoo and shower gel for your convenience. Electricity is available almost half of the day and it is more than enough to charge anything in your room! The sea is just three meters from your door so you can easily swim whenever you want. This is also very convenient for diving or excursion's pickups as the boats pick you up straight from your door to go for diving or for a trip! Also, in walking distance you can snorkel in very amazing home reefs on your own. Paparisa rents for a small amount of money snorkeling equipment and these guys can also arrange several snorkeling trips to anywhere in the area. They also have contacts around so don't hesitate to ask them for anything you need! The communication before arrival through WhatsApp was exceptional and they have helped us a lot with our planning (the boat from Waisai to Kri arranged by them and a lot more). The food in the place is very tasty and feels like home and they are willing to cater any special dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan etc).

I went diving for three days on the Pulau Gam and snorkeled daily on Friwen. They are about a 10 mins boat ride. The Homestay is rustic. There are two beds covered with mosquito net. They are totally fine but somehow one would get in every night. It’s an island at the equator, there are mosquitoes. Also geckos! That’s part of the adventure. The room has an interior slide lock and there’s a clipping lock with a key for locking when you’re away. Honestly I never locked my place. The island seems very safe. Kids playing, most of the folks on the island are involved in tourism, though they don’t speak much English. It wasn’t an issue. I traveled solo and spent most afternoons in the hammock, reading, writing or napping. The food was amazing, delicious, the cook is very sweet and calls you to breakfast, lunch and dinner. The fresh fish is caught daily. Vegetables and rice, very delicious and all included. Large quantities. Box lunches are available if you are diving all day. Bananas are snacks. Unlimited instant coffee, tea, hot water. The island is stunning. Sunsets amazing. The reef has more life to see while snorkeling than most places (Europe, Caribbean, US, Latin America) have to see while scuba diving! I saw turtles, squid, dolphins playing, reef sharks and millions of coral. A not about cash and other fees: you will need ~140,000 to take a ferry from Sorong to Waisai. Then you’ll need 600,000 to ride each way from Waisai to Friwen (this can be divided with others, provided there are other riders.). On Waisai, you’ll have to buy a Marine Park pass and an entry pass, in total 1,000,000. So you’ll need around 2,250,000 in cash (be prepared bc the pass can be purchased online, or card but sometimes their system is down and you have to pay cash). In Sorong airport there are four ATMs, most of them don’t work well. There are ATMs on Waisai but you have to ride a motorcycle to them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

La struttura è molto comoda al porto. La proprietaria è gentilissima e molto disponibile. C’è la possibilità di affittare motorini nella struttura. Le camere sono spaziose e pulite.

Le donne di case sono davvero super! Gentili, servizievoli, vi consiglieranno cosa visitare in zona e potrete anche noleggiare lo scooter (consigliatissima una giornata al Blu River). Oltre ad ottime omlet mattutine, abbiamo avuto modo di assaggiare anche una vera e buonissima cena casalinga. Brave!!! Sembra di essere ospitati a casa di amici

GAM BAY bungalow's presenta un giardino, una zona spiaggia privata, una terrazza e un ristorante a Besir. Dotata di camere familiari, questa struttura offre ai suoi ospiti anche un barbecue. Quando si alloggia in un posto così, non ci si deve mai dimenticare del prezzo pagato e devo dire che ciò che offrono va pure oltre..se non altro per la cura con cui si cerca di fare del proprio meglio! Il cibo era buono e preparato con amore, l'ambiente sereno, rilassato e familiare e contrariamente ad altri posti, qui sono riuscita a far funzionare anche la mia eSim. Elettricità e wifi sono disponibili solo dalle 6 del pomeriggio fino a mezzanotte, cosa ben specificata, quindi tenetela in considerazione! La baia in cui si trova la struttura è molto bella e c'è anche un grazioso punto di vista da cui vederla dall alto e una terrazza in direzione del tramonto! The location is stunning, but what truly made our experience exceptional was the amazing service we received from the entire team. A special thank you to Ramdhan for his attentiveness and warm hospitality, he made us feel at home every single day. Oyen impressed us with his snorkeling guidance and caring attitude, every outing was magical thanks to him. Afri was always there with a smile, offering outstanding assistance at any hour, and his energy and kindness truly stood out. And Andy, with his friendly presence and helpful nature, made everything easier and more enjoyable. Every member of the team went above and beyond, and we left with unforgettable memories and full hearts. We’re already dreaming of coming back one day. Thank you for everything!
