The breakfast was incredible. It was so enjoyable and filling based on Indonesian recipes. Fresh fruit every morning. All of the staff were so helpful and lovely, they truly made our stay a joy. I would highly recommend this oasis and paradise that was incredible in terms of value for money.

It is out in a rural area well outside the city. Very peaceful and relaxing. Room was super clean and air conditioned with a large bathroom ( no a/c) and mini bar. ( Beer and cokes only) It has a small but good restaurant ( reserve meals in advance) and a lovely garden and pool. Looks out on rice fields with birds and nature all around. It is close.to a mosque and you can definitely hear the call to prayer. It added to the atmosphere for us and they turn down the loudspeaker for the 4am call to prayer!. You can borrow the bikes and ride through the working rice fields leased from the sultan. You certainly get to see authentic rural Javanese life but its not for those who want any kind of nightlife! Beer available but no wine, so bring your own if you want to relax over a glass while getting your authenticity!

The house has a beautiful garden and lots of green plants at every corner. But the best part is Ms Herni and her assistant Lina’s hospitality. They cook delicious Javanese food and gave great advice on exploring Jogya. I feel home when I am with them.

Without them, our trip would not have been nearly as fun or enriching. They are some of the kindest people we’ve ever met, and we feel so blessed to have stayed with them.
